Plame's Input Is Cited on Niger Mission (Joe Wilson lied about EVERYTHING)
Washington Compost ^ | 7/10/04 | Susan Schmidt

Former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, dispatched by the CIA in February 2002 to investigate reports that Iraq sought to reconstitute its nuclear weapons program with uranium from Africa, was specifically recommended for the mission by his wife, a CIA employee, contrary to what he has said publicly.

-------- snip! ----------

Wilson's assertions -- both about what he found in Niger and what the Bush administration did with the information -- were undermined yesterday in a bipartisan Senate intelligence committee report.

"then we can rest assured that we no longer have a real press corp.

Nope.

We only have a "real" press corpse. They will ignore this issue completely.

Probably parallel interests:

Hating-Bush/hating-America/pro-democrat/pro-UN/Pro-Arabic/pro_Saudi/anti-Jew/anti-Isreal/anti-captialistic/pro-communist/pro-enviro/pro-Saddam/pro-French are not always the same people.

Many times they ARE the same people, but different people now are battling Bush for different reasons.

I neglected to add one more thing about the French Father Flyboy: His name was on the list of people and entities Saddam Hussein had bribed with oil vouchers.

Oh, my. It had gone through my head late last night to check some of your findings against the list--and here you have. I am not surprised. How sad. How disgusting.

I see your other pings...skimmed over, will read in detail later. Much food for thought.

This was the infamous Terrance Wilkinson scam that had the fictional Wilkinson claiming Bush instructed the CIA to manufacture evidence against Iraq. Another happening that I've always thought was part and parcel of the plot to bring down Bush and Blair with the charges that they lied (or "sexed up", as the case may be).

Hmmmmmmmmmmm..Terrance J. Wilkinson...was anyone ever able to track down this person?

This is the beginning of William McKinley's exposure of Terrance J. Wilkinson and Capitol Hill Blue.

Did Capitol Hill Blue Post An Article With Fabrications?

There is another element that bothers me. Sending Wilson implies that the agency that is supposed to be pursuing these kinds of issues apparently does not have anyone on the ground in Niger, despite the apparent existence of a uranium black market there. And despite Al Qaeda's interest in the Mahgreb as sanctuary and base now that its other bases have become less secure.

Wilson's intervention reveals that the agency is not taking the region and the issue seriously. Sending a suit for a week is not how you penetrate a uranium smuggling operation. If thats what they think, that would be in itself evidence of incompetence. Instead they should deploy a couple of investment bankers to help the nouveau riche in the government to place their investment dollars, that would be a way to penetrate the business. Or let some of their rookies practice their craft following the trucks to Cotoneau, to see which ships they load into, that might be instructive. All they have done so far is to demonstrate their lack of assets in the region, and with it their lack of seriousness.

And, more telling of their incompetence - and of the general incompetence of the WH and Repub's on the Senate Intelligence Committee!!! -

.. is the repubb'ies refusal (!)to send anybody else to investigate!

"The story will never see the light of day in the leftist media. Instead there will be 24/7 coverage of Brittany Spears' hangnail or something like that".

I do agree with you about the media bias! It made it this time, at least in print (Chicago SUN-TIMES).

Here is a link to the article here on FR (Bush’s State of the Union speech redeemed).

Here is an excerpt. This is great news!

“Well, on Wednesday in London, Lord Butler will publish his report into the quality of the intelligence on which rested Britain's case for going to war with Iraq. The report is said to be critical of some of Tony Blair's claims, supportive of others. And, among the latter, he says that the statements about Iraq and Niger are justified and supported by the intelligence. In other words, the British Government did learn that Saddam Hussein did seek significant quantities of uranium from Africa".

Of all the Bush-hating pundits, Joe Wilson inspires the most loathing in me. Maybe that's because his little mission to undermind the credibility of our President, on a top-secret fact-finding mission in times of war, brings to mind the true meaning of the word "Treason". Wilson and his little tramp of a spouse, should both be prosecuted !!!

Ya know-I understand exactly what you are feeling. It does ring treason. Loudly.

And after reading a few excerpts from the Intelligence report made to congress, posted by Freeper Kristinn, and now knowing that joey wilson said his wife had NOTHING to do with his going on this mission as well as reading with my own eyes the parts of the memos she sent to the honchos stating joe's credentials for the job (in other words, she pushed for joe to get the job).....I AM DISGUSTED!

In any other world, this would have been front page news.

It fully exposes this arrogant, wheeler-dealer wannabe and our press corp, true to form, ignored it.

I dispise our mainstream press and the people who run this machine behind the scenes. Never have I trusted them less. Especially after the BIG BIG BIG DEAL they made out of hateful joey wilson's testimony-which turns out to be a PACK OF LIES.

I too find this disturbing. If CIA has gone over to the dark side, Rumsfeld should have had someone from the military intel side of the street in there nosing around. And on something as important as this, the Repub Party organization should have hired some private people to investigate not only the issue itself, but Wilson personally, and Wilson's business and political connections that might shed light on his involvement in this.

They should have taken this dead serious.

Shortly after Libya folded its tent, I saw an investigative news report by a Scottish newspaper stating that most of the nuclear scientists in the Libyan mountain labs were IRANIAN, not Iraqi. No mention of Iraq in that report. I emailed the reporters asking about any indication of Iraqi involvement, but got no response. Reports have been that Saddam was Kaddafi's mentor/idol for years, so I cannot imagine Libya, Iran and NK being in a big nuclear weapons deal without Iraq. Iran in a deal w/Libya w/o Saddam?! Just doesn't fit IMO. So the report from Loftus seems to make sense. But still no reconciliation of the first report out of Iranian scientists w/ Loftus' report of Iraqis. Anyone know any more recent or more accurate info?

No new information here. But my first thought when Libya revealed its nuclear program was that we had just found Saddam's program, it was subcontracted to Libya.

But I haven't seen any evidence to support my theory. But I have read hints of Nigerien yellowcake being trucked over the border into Libya.

May I please repeat your excellent comments? Exactly what you said.

And IF the authorities determine they have enough evidence that Wilson and his wife were ever to be charged, you just know it would get worse. the MSM would ignore these facts that have just been established, and continue to promote Wilson's version, Wilson's lies.

I wonder how much influence the State Department has over the investigations of the CIA, such as the needed follow-up on the Niger uranium issues. Remember, the CIA itself is the one whose personnel were going after GWB with leaks to the press. And the CIA requested the investigation into the criminality of the "outing" of Ms. Plame. So I would not say it's the Republicans doing the slow shuffle in failing to get the job completed. I'd say it's the left wingers like Wilson still trying to fulfill their agenda.

If the CIA has gone to the dark side...what do we do? I cannot figure out what the Republicans were thinking when they investigated this. Couldn't Roberts have put this on the back burner for at least a year? I'm loosing confidence in the Senate. I'm still comfortable with the WH. I just get a sick feeling that agencies and the government branches are at odds with each other at a time of war.

Or they could have asked Niger's Prime Minister, who has said from the very beginning that Saddam did try to get "yellow cake", and other bomb making elements, from them. The press has been happy to run with the Wilson story while ignoring what the PM said about it.

The CIA, DoD and State all need to be flushed after every Democrat president.
