MADRID - Over the weekend Spanish authorities revealed that the same Al Qaeda cell that had planned and carried out the Madrid bombings on March 11 had its sights set on a Children's Nursery and Primary School.
As police closed in on the cell members the squad committed a collective suicide. This, police say, is the only thing that may have prevented a massive attack at the school.
Due to the school's popularity, even Real Madrid soccer players have children who attend, it seemed to be an ideal target for the men who occupied a flat and used it for terrorist planning, said police. When the school is busy the streets outside are sometimes lined with literally hundreds of parents, teachers, school administrators, and neighbors who live in welathy homes bordering the school.
The school was British run but was bi-lingual in its teaching. European soccer star David Beckham had looked into the area before purchasing a home last year. The British Parliament is opening full investigations into the security and potential attack threats.

This would be especially damaging to the Spanish psyche because they have so few children per capita to begin with.
If only John Kerry would "jaw-bone" with them!
I hope you simply forgot to type "/sarcasm". Saudi Arabia has been caving into Al Queda for eons and what thanks have they gotten for it? They are now targets, too.
That's a REAL Al Qaeda recruitment ad, right?
In the mean time we should remind everyone by radio and TV that ALL AMERICAN SCHOOLS ARE GUN-FREE ZONES thanks to all the RINOs and Libs.
Parents, Grandparents, teachers, and principals should arm themselves and prepare to defend their kids with their last breath. We should learn our lessons from the Israelis.
You wouldn't be alone. I, for one, would be with ya.
Thank you...both of you.
That's hysterical. I love it. LOL!!
Talk about the "jaw of the ass", that could be Kerry's code name with the Secret Service.
Now is the time for real Americans to train and arm themselves...and be very, very alert at all times.
Profile all the time and watch everyone else. And join your local mosque to keep an eye on those camel humping demon possessed fools.
Anyone heard about the Univ. of MN 'mosque' and it's little soldiers recently? They're in the Midwest alright.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you.
Sick animals.

Bump
I think we need to be prepared to see something like this happen in the future. Al-Queda's tactic of beheading is meant to horrify. It's been reported that they have offered a reward for the capture of a female member of the US military. They know that would horrify the civilized world even more. What would be next? Children, of course. God, I want these subhumans off my planet.
Huh.
No cocktail, but I guarantee you....I wouldn't be the only one fighting. GUARANTEE it.
I hear that. Grandma would be baking something besides cookies in that event.
Has the media been playing this up as only a British target? (I've been busy.) It means AQ wouldn't even wait 2 months before they were ready to kill again. And this, after Spain's new President wasted no time getting Spanish Troops out of Iraq when it was demanded of him. His huge act of appeasement only him bought about 5 weeks without attacks. Jeeze, wouldn't you think they would at least just him a couple of months? Now they are targeting Spanish children. Amazing.
Wonder if this plot to kill school kids might be enough to get through the cement thick skulls of liberals, but I sort of doubt it. I think it would actually have to happen first, then they would agree to do something about Al-Qaida, but after about a week they would change their minds and go back to bashing Bush.
Unfortunately, I think you are right. I don't think the media will play this up to much or if they do it will only be the part about the school being British. This is not something people who believe appeasement want to hear - you can't trust a terrorist. People will be shocked.
Didn't I read somewhere here that the new government of Spain is actually sending troopsto Iraq again, double the amount (still pitifully small)?
