A combined effort between Freepers and Protest Warriors was a MAJOR success today in Richmond, Virginia!!
A.N.S.W.E.R. and local socialist sympathizers (IndyMedia) were taken by surprise by a joint operation called "Lightning Bolt". What was supposed to be a HUGE Anti- Bush, Anti-War, Anti-America, Anti-Everything rally, turned out to be nothing more than maybe 200 - 300 hundred of the "usual" suspects. In other words, the un-washed, and the un-employable !! There seemed to be more police than protestors, even though, as an inducement to swell the crowd of protestors, they advertised "Free Food". As the Freepers and Protest Warriors lined Belvidere and Franklin Streets with signs and flags, motorists started beeping their car horns and giving us the "thumbs-up". This did not please the socialists and anarchists. Nor did the fact that we received a large amount of media attention. Several Freepers and Protest Warriors were interviewed by 2 local television stations, and 2 local reporters for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Not "one" American flag was seen in the march, BUT......a large "United Nations" flag was proudly hoisted in the middle of the marchers. This will come as no surprise to Freepers, but it is nonetheless disheartening to see people who would rather carry a U.N. flag in place of an American flag.
We were all thrilled at the reception of the local residents who supported our efforts, but the entire day was justified when a young man, who was out riding his bicycle, stopped to thank us for supporting the troops. He was a former Marine, and he just wanted us to know how much our support meant to him.
It was a good day......a VERY good day !!

Now that I think about it, you're absolutely right. They have the same "vacant" stare. It must be the "drugs".....

Do the dorm rooms at VCU have showers or running water??? Seriously, this was one of the filthiest group of marchers I have ever seen. The worst part was that they seemed so oblivious and so completely out of touch with reality. It was really pathetic......
But, in all fairness, the march organizers started to panic because of so litle enthusiasm here in Virginia. They bused in people from out of State to make the crowd look bigger. Even that failed and so did the offer of "FREE FOOD"!! hehehe

I would recommend the "Don't Tread On Me" flag, as even a defaced, upside down UN flag could still be misinterpreted as supporting that corrupt--and illegitimate--institution.

Yep. I heard about one incident where three lesbians ran into the dorm shower with a straight girl to try and convert her.

GREAT JOB, FREEPERS! I've found the police are usually very supportive of our efforts to support the troops.
Standing on a downtown street corner in Houston last year holding the American flag in the midst of about 300 anti-war demonstrators when the mounted police patrol passed by.
Everyone, to a man , saluted that flag!

Did either of you see me being interviewed on channel 12? A lot of my daughters friends kept calling saying your "mom was on TV" and, it seems all my neighbors saw it and not all are very happy with me. LOL
I missed it so I have to ask if I need to hide or did I do a good job?

TNTtheLeft found this on channel 12s site so I guess I can get a copy of the video
Video Tapes
"We are frequntly asked for video tapes of news stories or of programs we air. If it were as simple as going to a shelf and picking up a copy of the right tape, we'd love to help. It isn't that simple.
Because of contracts with the network and with our other program providers, we cannot provide tapes of any programs. The network and -- in many cases - the production companies, retain videotape-sales rights. You would need to contact the network or the program's producers to request such copies.
Our local newscasts are produced using digital servers and digital video tape that is quite different from home VHS tape. We simply don't have the right equipment to produce copies of stories for home use.
However, the firm "Video News" has requested, and been given, permission to tape our Copyrighted newscasts and provide copies of stories to interested individuals. They charge for locating, dubbing and shipping such home video tapes. They can be reached at 804-744-3381."
