Americans currently flocking to see Michael Moore's movie "Farenheit 9/11" might be surprised to learn how little respect the Democratic Party's leading propaganda-meister has for them.''They are possibly the dumbest people on the planet," Moore told Britain's Mirror newspaper recently, referring to his fellow citizens as a whole. And that's not all Moore had to say about his brother Yanks across the pond. ''We Americans suffer from an enforced ignorance. We don't know about anything that's happening outside our country. Our stupidity is embarrassing.''
Turns out, when the Democratic Party's all-but-official filmmaker is speaking at home, he has nice things to say about at least some of his fellow citizens. But according to New York Times columnist David Brooks, when Moore travels abroad it's not just the Bush administration he trashes - but the American people en-masse.
Here's a few more bon mots from the Kerry campaign's leading celluloid supporter, as cited by Mr. Brooks on Saturday:
''That's why we're smiling all the time,'' Moore told a rapturous throng in Munich. ''You can see us coming down the street. You know, 'Hey! Hi! How's it going?' We've got that big [expletive] grin on our face all the time because our brains aren't loaded down.''
To a crowd in Cambridge, Moore intoned: ''You're stuck with being connected to this country of mine, which is known for bringing sadness and misery to places around the globe.''
Here's Moore's reaction to the 9/11 attacks, offered while the rubble at Ground Zero was still smoldering: ''We, the United States of America, are culpable in committing so many acts of terror and bloodshed that we had better get a clue about the culture of violence in which we have been active participants.''
As for the terrorists currently killing American soldiers in Iraq, Moore compares them to Revolutionary war heroes who fought off British oppression:
''The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'The Enemy.' They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win.''
Didn't Moore recently say that most of the country is liberal? If that is the case, I agree with his assessment.
Indeed it will :-)
I say we bury our Islamist enemies with Moore fat.
Those who flock to see Moore's film are all a bunch of lemmings. As for being "dumb", just consider today's educational system, methods of reading, etc. It certainly was planned that way!
He right... at least half of the voting ones are. In 2000 fully half the voting public voted for AL Gore.. Hard to get around that. Course Moore thinks the wrong half are dumb but he is correct, nevertheless. Obviously Moore has no idea he just "DIS'ed" himself.. but hey!.. he is quite dumb you know.. Rap music, TV sitcoms, Jerry Springer, Rasslin', his movie(and others), socialism not laughed at, the green party, PETA, NEA, leaving the borders wide open, infanticide is common, 1984(Orwell) type propaganda common, Unions and taxes chasing jobs to to 3rd world countrys.. and much more.. Americans are pretty dumb.. and the smart ones are not that smart either.. If they were smart, a revolution would have already happened.. as the founders predicted it would and SHOULD happen..
I think it's an unhealthy superiority/inferiority thing. They've been bested by their kid brother and it's driving them nuts. They sold their birthright as the dominant world power for a pottage of toxic collectivist political philosophies that brought them to their knees. Adding insult to injury, we saved them from their stupidities, and afterwards nursed them back to health and stood watch over them like a sick kitten. That's an embarrassing thing for a prideful people to have in their past, and it's resulting in a toxic attitude that's being directed towards us.
That's my pop-psych explanation. There are others of course.
I want the law applied. I want him arrested for sedition, and anybody who follows him, as well.
He goes in front of people who hate Americans (i.e. Europeans), dances for them in a way that reinforces their most cherished stereotypes about Americans, and they throw him coins.
I always thougth that reuniting Germany might not be such a good idea. Could be the Russians, Brits and US might have to deal with them (and France) one last final time. Just like Rome finally gave up on Carthage dealt them a death blow.
''They are possibly the dumbest people on the planet,"...
If this were not true, there would be no Democrat Party. Recall please it is a coalition of many small groups, all of which are led by zealots who have obtained leadership positions and then hang on to them by telling the big lies special to their group. The Rats are pure ignorant dumbkoffs and Moore knows that. He made the movie because he knows they are dumb and he can make them more ignorant by skillful manipulation.
Joseph Goebbels, the nazi propaganda wizard laid out the way.....Moore is merely following the course.
Dumb Americans = The greatest SUPERPOWER ever, on the face of the earth.
This nutcase is a great spokesman for the Dems. He's the kind of face that puts an indelible image on the Party. The more outrageous he gets, the better.
I think Michael Moore is the dumbest person on earth. He obviously doesn't have a clue as to why America and Americans are so great.
What goes around comes around and I can't possibly imagine what is in store for Moore.
"Like once a very kind lady gave Hillary a pair of Razorback earrings thinking since she was the first lady of Arkansas that she might appreciate them. Not her. She turned around to one of her aides and said something to the effect of what the *ell does she expect me to do with these ugly things."
HITLERY DOES HAVE A WAY WITH COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT.
"suffer from enforced ignorance"
How about 40 YEARS OF LIBERAL TEACHING IN OUR SCHOOLS.
No wonder he doesn't know anything about the GREATNESS OF AMERICA. He's an idiot all right!
Moore made his film for Democrats. I would not presume to suggest that he does not know his audience.
