Actually, it didn't work all that well. If you had asked a citizen of Japan or Nagasaki in late August if they wanted to keep fighting the Americans I promise you that you would have heard a large NO.

I can imagine being so defeated by the situation that one would just withdraw to being so overpowered : ( Very tragic

Enough, already! We get it, child, we get it. You're not voting for Bush. You despise the man. You're trying to convince as many people as possible to vote for someone other than Bush.
It's people like you who will bring this country down faster than any Leftist could dream of doing.

I like the headline of MSNBC:
"Hostage executed - Terrorists holding a South Korean hostage in Iraq have beheaded their captor."
They must have some real "journalists" writing the headlines at MSNBC, that should be "captive", instead of captor...

If Bush was as weak as you continually proclaim... he would have done nothing after 9/11 except lob a few missles. The fact that he didn't shows that despite your criticism, he is anything but weak. We are winning!

I am just soooooooo tired of seeing these masked cowards on TV sporting their automatic weapons like they have balls to use them. I would take out al Jazzera just on the general principle that they keep showing these animals all ganged up on one restrained individual. There has to be some way to use these peoples' cowardice against them. It's time for some creative thinking on ways to scare them. As an earlier post pointed out, they have no fear of death, maybe the answer is an all expense paid trip to the southeast tip of Cuba. Capture them, but don't kill them. Deny them the 'honor' of becoming another martyr for their misguided cause.

The problem with Bush's making a public statement after one of these beheadings, is that it gives them importance that they don't deserve and gives terrorists just what they want. Bush is in a box, damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. And where are the Iraqi police? Why can't they track down and arrest or kill these creeps? Clearly, everyone is waiting to see what happens when the new govt. takes over. I suspect some are wondering if Saddam will be freed. Maybe the answer is for America to turn off the news and trust that our military is getting the job done. I think the sensible advice is to ignore each and every terrorist act and concentrate on our goals. But it's hard to act sensibly and with patience when you see that poor Korean man's heartbroken parents.

Bush is making me want to vomit lately. A lot of talk, no forward moving action. The minute our tanks stopped rolling forward was when this whole thing went sour.Gee, one would think there would be a little more hope considering the Iraqis are just about to run their country for the 1st time in 50 years.
Didn't we just kill a bunch of terrorists in Falluja this week.
I prefer to see the glass half full rather than incessant WHINING.
Hava a little faith, it will help get you through the day.
Seriesly!

Why don't you go back and read the comment that preceded mine -- the one that I was responding to.
I have never said I will not vote for George W. Bush. I was responding to a comment from someone else who suggested we should get used to the idea of a President Kerry.

sadly, it appears to be working. Most trolls don't wait 6 weeks before showing their colors, though. I think he (that would be you, C4B) just let his entirely justifiable anger get in the way of his reading and comprehension skills.
C4B, I've made a few of those "posts I wished I thought about more before hitting send" as well.
Eggs - he did allow in one of his posts that he might have misinterpreted the post that started all of this back and forth.

This crap is getting so out of hand. GWB is becoming like Clinton more and more every day. Kerry is of course worse, by GWB has lost his nerve to pull the trigger.I PROUDLY AGREE 100%. I wouldn't vote for Kerry in a million years, but I still agree 100% at the risk of a bushbot flame. Asbestos suit is on.

Doing that would do one of two things:
1) Unleash the terrorists to kill everyone and everything
or
2) Cause them to think about what exactly they are doing.

If you had asked a citizen of Japan or Nagasaki in late August 1945 if they wanted to keep fighting the Americans I promise you that you would have heard a large NO. More people died in the firebombing raid on Tokyo than died in either of the A-bomb cities. The Japanese did not surrender. Nor did they surrender as a result of the the fire bombing campaign that began in early 1945.
They surrendered because the emperor said "enough."

I can't believe that you can't tell the difference between what the citizens want and the army will do.
They only stopped fighting because the Emperor said no more (and he was a god)... That's it. If the Emperor had not commented the war would have continued because the military was determined to see it through to the end - even if the end meant the destruction of Japan.
