So, it didn't work did it?

Nope. Germany and Japan were defeated the old fashioned way: by killing their armies and capturing territory.

Bush should immediately walk into the press room and give a statement. He can't allow the media to blame these deaths on him and get that into the news cycle for the sheeple as they go home from work and get the news on their car radios. But again, the WH has no media strategy.

Exactly. GW keeps playing this PC crapola & he is close to losing this election. He looks weak internationally, he looks weak in Congress. Then we look at the other faction of this "Two-Party Catel" & see a midget & midget-mind followers.

You're right, Bush warned us it would be a shadow war, with secret victories we'd never hear about. The problem is that was need to have enough public good news to counteract the weekly atrocity meter, otherwise, Kerry will clean Bush's clock come Nov. And then we're in real trouble.

You will be further ignored by me.

Good. I'm tired of reading your ill-conceived rants anyway.

Before you laugh at me, look at the DC sniper attacks, and tell me I'm wrong.

You are right.

Yes, children die in wars and it is most regrettable. But in the case that any of these hypothetical moderate mohamedans actually exist, give them a choice: go find the bad guys for us or watch your children die. Shouldn't that be incentive enough?

I was not angry since I came to France
Until this instant. Take a trumpet, herald;
Ride thou unto the horsemen on yon hill:
If they will fight with us, bid them come down,
Or void the field; they do offend our sight:
If they'll do neither, we will come to them,
And make them skirr away, as swift as stones
Enforced from the old Assyrian slings:
Besides, we'll cut the throats of those we have,
And not a man of them that we shall take
Shall taste our mercy. Go and tell them so.

Shakespear put the right words into the mouth of Henry V after the French massacre of the boys guarding the baggage in Agincourt.

And not a man of them that we shall take
Shall taste our mercy. Go and tell them so.

Most human beings on this planet have a heart.

I'm not sure about that.

Actually, it is very difficult to do business with Middle Easterners in general. They are very wishy-washy when it comes to commitment. It takes a true art to read between the lines of what they say and what they mean. Its not that they are liers. It is just in their culture to not be specific and they consider it rude if you try to push them on specifics. VERY difficult to do business with.

It sounds like you are speaking from experience. Just out of curiosity, what countries/groups did you deal with?

Wow Christian4Bush! Where did that come from?

The other 2 posters, dmz and Osage Orange are correct. When I referred to 'progress' I was making a reference to this morning's report that his life may be spared.

C4B, thank you for making assumptions and making yourself look like an ass. If you would have clicked my name, and checked my profile... you would see that your comments make no sense. I voted for Bush in 2000, I continue to support his actions today.

In your own words... "Never mind...you're not worth it."

Bush is making me want to vomit lately. A lot of talk, no forward moving action. The minute our tanks stopped rolling forward was when this whole thing went sour.

Japan - it did work, but only because the Emperor said no more. The generals could have care less that two cities were in ruin. They were committed to fight to the end. So, if the Emperor hadn't said no, then the fight would have continued...and we would have had to invade. But, the Emperor cared for the people.

Now, take out a city. Fallujah... Wipe it out. Do you honestly think that will make the terrorists stop? Make them see the light of day? No, it won't because they don't care what happens to their citizenery. In the terrorist conclaves and organization, there is no Emperor. They will continue to fight...

Be anger... be fit to be tied... be red hot with rage...but fight with intelligence. And we are fighting, and we are winning...

That's why the terrorists have resorted to this type of tactic. It's one of the few option opened to them. And it saps the will... Spain was defeated with a bomb. Wiping out Mecca would not stop the terrorists. They hide in shadows because it is hard to detect them in the shadows... but we are fighting, and we are winning...and they know it.

Just curious: if somebody came to you with that choice, what would your response be?

I know what my response would be: to try to kill the bastards who made the threat. You think an Iraqi man wouldn't do the same?

The "keyboard generals" love to pretend that the Iraqis will just accept whatever atrocities they'd have our troops commit. They're delusional.
