Summary: The DreamWorks' animated film, "Shrek 2," is billed as harmless entertainment but contains subtle sexual messages.
Parents who are thinking about taking their children to see "Shrek 2", may wish to consider the following: The movie features a male-to-female transgender (in transition) as an evil bartender. The character has a five o'clock shadow, wears a dress and has female breasts. It is clear that he is a she-male. His voice is that of talk show host Larry King.
During a dance scene at the end of the movie, this transgendered man expresses sexual desire for Prince Charming, jumps on him, and both tumble to the floor.
In another scene in the movie, Shrek and Donkey need to be rescued from a dungeon where they are chained against the wall. The rescue is conducted by pinnochio who is asked to lie so his nose will grow long enough for one of the smaller cartoon characters to use it as a bridge to reach Shrek and Donkey. Donkey encourages him to lie about something and suggetsts he lie about wearing women's underwear. When he denies wearing women's underwear, his nose begins to grow.
An earlier scene in the movie features a wolf dressed in grandma's clothing and reading a book when Prince Charming encounters him. Later, one of the characters refers to the wolf's gender confusion.
TVC's report "A gender Identity Disorder Goes Mainstream" explains the transgender agenda and the effort to deconstruct the biological reality of male and female. DreamWorks is helping in this effort by promoting cross dressing and transgenderism in this animated film.
The wolf dressed in a nightie is from "Little Red Riding Hood" a classic Grimm tale.
The bartender with Larry King's voice is "the ugly stepsister" from "Cinderella.
I saw Shrek 2 yesterday and I thought it was excellent. I will buy the DVD for my grandchildren.
A lot of Disney and Dreamworks children's movies put some sly adult humor into these movies. It's so that the parents don't get bored.
The Pinocchio joke went by so fast I don't think any little kids could "get" it.
Fortunately, the transexual thing went over my kids' (6 & 9) heads. They kind of got the Pinochio joke, but not entirely. I won't buy the DVD because of the inclusion of these scenes.
No, you're too busy trying to parent my children for me.
Thank you, but I don't need you to. I take my job as a parent very seriously.
No one is stopping you from "not seeing" the motion picture.
Thanks for playing; there's some wonderful parting gifts for you back stage.
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
I grew up watching cartoons and whatever "crossdressing" happened in the fifties was not the same as the pro-homo conditioning and gender confusion that is being promoted now. Since homosexual activists admit that this is what they are doing, I take them at their word.
They admit that they want to sensitize children to the multi-faceted diversity of sexual identity and diverse families and all that crap. It's an intentional ploy, and it's too bad you don't see it. Perhaps you need to read a bit more what the homosexuals themselves have said about their plans (started in the 80s) to infiltrate the media with "gay themes". This isn't paranoia, it's what they said they were going to do, and they're doing it.
I mite also ask the similarly smart-aleck question:
Do you ever see the *reality* in anything?
Laissez, you didn't answer the question posed to you.
Maybe you missed it.
I'll ask it again, just in case.
Did you actually see Shrek 2, or are you simply going on what TVC says about it?
"Only in your mind! "
No, there are actually MANY Bugs Bunny cartoons where he cross-dresses. You must be delusional...or maybe your parents denied you the ability to watch Bugs because he's evil or something. Regardless, you are wrong on this point and I am right.
"Perhaps you have a wishful imagination for this?"
LOL! Yeah - that's what it is. As a father of twin 18 month olds, my fondest sexual desire is for a cross-dressing cartoon ogre. [/sarcasm]. You're an idiot.
"In any event, sound like you'll love Shrek 2."
Doubtful, seeing as how I despised the 2 hour Disney commercial that was 'Shrek 1'.
"Do we joke about the innocent fun of alcoholism"?
Why yes - turn on any TV, go to any sporting event and you'll see the consumption of alcohol glorified.
Some people live joyless lives, and as such don't want others to have any. There are some who live to squash the joyful innocence of children and can't let them be watching a cartoon movie. Sometimes I think the old cliches about right wing fundies having no fun is there for a reason.
You can find evil and bad when you look for it. I have my problems with many things that are evil but put on "jewelry" to make them look good but all that said sometimes we tend to put over emphasis on things and make them so much worse than they are.
I hated the Lion King for its New Age connotations but the Humor was durn funny.I could go on and on with different movies that have things that just are not right. So I'll leave you with this quote from The Word.
"Raise your Children up in the way they should go and they will not stray far from it."
Because it seems like it sends a message that crossdressing/transgenderism are just fun behavior, and not to be taken seriously...Sure those behaviors may or may not be mocked within the movie, but still, it may help to get people familiarized with those behaviors, in a laughy-jokey sort of way, and that isn't good. Those behaviors should be brought to childrens attention as sick behaviors, not to be even laughed at, but behaviors one should totally distance onesself from.
"Do you want censors to scour over everything broadcast/screened/or spoken of to make sure it fits within your views? "
That is exactly what these narrow-minded, sad people want - for everyone to be as miserable and paranoid as they are.
"Do we joke about the innocent fun of alcoholism or heroin addiction? Or those kooky kleptomaniacs or wacky arsonists?"
Actually, they do. Plenty of movies and TV shows promote that. And murder as fun, too.
It's like the ONLY bad thing that is un-PC these days is SMOKING. THAT has disappeared from movies and TV. And sometimes is even made a big deal of as a very, very bad thing (the "Touched by an Angel" episode that was near the last straw for me).
Think about it.
"Doubtful, seeing as how I despised the 2 hour Disney commercial that was 'Shrek 1'."
Actually Blzbba, Shrek 1 ripped Disney in just about every scene (Dreamworks made Shrek). Including making Lord Farquad look and act just like Eisner.
So If I am retentive I get a parting Gift?
"So If I am retentive I get a parting Gift?"
Of Course, you get the "Prunes for all Seasons" gift pack, including a 55 gallon drum of Prune Juice
I guess that would take parting to a whole new level?
