Summary: The DreamWorks' animated film, "Shrek 2," is billed as harmless entertainment but contains subtle sexual messages.
Parents who are thinking about taking their children to see "Shrek 2", may wish to consider the following: The movie features a male-to-female transgender (in transition) as an evil bartender. The character has a five o'clock shadow, wears a dress and has female breasts. It is clear that he is a she-male. His voice is that of talk show host Larry King.
During a dance scene at the end of the movie, this transgendered man expresses sexual desire for Prince Charming, jumps on him, and both tumble to the floor.
In another scene in the movie, Shrek and Donkey need to be rescued from a dungeon where they are chained against the wall. The rescue is conducted by pinnochio who is asked to lie so his nose will grow long enough for one of the smaller cartoon characters to use it as a bridge to reach Shrek and Donkey. Donkey encourages him to lie about something and suggetsts he lie about wearing women's underwear. When he denies wearing women's underwear, his nose begins to grow.
An earlier scene in the movie features a wolf dressed in grandma's clothing and reading a book when Prince Charming encounters him. Later, one of the characters refers to the wolf's gender confusion.
TVC's report "A gender Identity Disorder Goes Mainstream" explains the transgender agenda and the effort to deconstruct the biological reality of male and female. DreamWorks is helping in this effort by promoting cross dressing and transgenderism in this animated film.
OH BROTHER!!!!
Some like it Hot with Jack Lemon and Tony Curtis is cross-dressing too...
Give me a break.
It's not transgender...I've encountered a few women who actually have 5:00 shadow. These people need to chill out.
"They are required to now live with it in their day to day lives."
So thousands (millions?) of children are now crossdressing on a daily basis in schools and getting sex-changes? Sorry - I don't think so.
Homosexual Agenda Ping - Transgenderism and Crossdressing in Kids' Movies Alert.
I haven't seen Shrek, won't see it, so you see it and you decide. There's quite a disagreement in the thread, if any of you has seen it, why don't you weigh in?
I'd like to see what you guys think of this movie. I've noticed a lot of kids' movies (the few I see) are usually or often infected - or innoculated, you might say - with a bit of gender identity confusion, Disney especially. They think it's good for the kids.
Let me and scripter know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.
"But the same message(transgenderism) is being promoted within both arenas."
And I still completely disagree with this sentiment. While it may be being promoted in CA schools as "normal", it most certainly is -not- portrayed as normal in Shrek II. It is made fun of. It is mocked. It is the butt of several jokes. Why can't you distinguish one from the other?
Qwinn
Got that tin-foil corset on rather tight, don't you?
"But wouldn't it be nice to have a truly nice movie for a change? Something that isn't going to offend any1, and that you don't have to worry about kids accidentally seeing? "
Watch "The Iron Giant".
Oh, there HAVE been (IMO) "good" movies - esp. ironically in the "adult" realm. I've been to more movies in the last couple years primarily cuz I thought they mite not only be of interest, but mite not offend me. (I've been wrong sometimes, but generally I pick pretty well. ;-) )
Doesn't matter. Kids, like in California, shouldn't have to listen to this garbage(the transgenderism/crossdressing message-that they are 'ok')
Did you see the movie? You must be a very unhappy person. Do you ever see anything positive in anything?
"So do many "Bugs Bunny" cartoons from 50 years ago."
Only in your mind! Perhaps you have a wishful imagination for this? In any event, sound like you'll love Shrek 2.
"I've noticed a lot of kids' movies (the few I see) are usually or often infected - or innoculated, you might say - with a bit of gender identity confusion, Disney especially. They think it's good for the kids. "
I've noticed this since the 50s Bugs Bunny cartoons...but I and millions of others grew up completely fine.
Does Disney 'think it's good for the kids' or does Disney know it will guarantee laughter from the kids AT the humorously-dressed characters?
Can you imagine the cocktail partys at The Berle's Place?
Nope, but that kind of behavior probably runs in your family. It dosen't run in mine.
Using it for joking - i.e. "innocent fun" is the camel's nose. First of all, get the kids to think about it and know about it. Then laugh at it, it's funny - harmless. The next step, acceptance, then who knows - you might be one.
Transgenderism and all that accompanies it is not harmless fun. It is serious mental illness, and when promoted in society, seriously deviant and harmful.
Do we joke about the innocent fun of alcoholism or heroin addiction? Or those kooky kleptomaniacs or wacky arsonists?
As you can see, some people are too stupid to "get it."
"Yeah, well, transgenderism wasn't being pushed quite as heavily as it is now within theatres, etc... As well, transgenderism is being taught as 'completely normal' within some California schools."
Frankly the norm in lefty land Hollyweird California is to teach kids that weirdo's, druggies, addiction rehab as a way of life, fetishes, perverts are the norm and normal law abiding civilized, repectful and responsible people are bad and just plain wrong.
What does that mean?
Loosen up, Lassy!
You must be the kind of person that thinks that the mental disorders of crossdressing/transgenderism are 'ok'. Does that make you happy? You must be the kind of person that sees something positive with crossdressing/transgenderism.
Actually people have been making Drunk Jokes for a long long time.
So what exactly is it you want Jeremiah?
Do you want censors to scour over everything broadcast/screened/or spoken of to make sure it fits within your views?
Maybe we should imprison the makers of Shrek for daring to make such pornography?
