"I wonder how many Republican voters Clinton created."

I have two friends who are in the exact same category with your sister. On top of that, they are boomers!

Well, now you can say "Dad, look at that Clift roll her eyes!" He may look at you funny, but it is almost as satisfying (again, just like Clymer)

but he did win. and Gore was running for what was essentially Clinton's third term - and won the popular vote. don't underestimate the Clintons - if Hillary should become president, the first husband/wife pair to achieve the presidency, the media and the sheeple will make them into demigods.

I lean conservative/libertarian, and I thought Clinton was a great president. Clinton had a way of talking everything up, and making people believe that tomorrow would be even better. Clinton was a great leader...that's what he did best. The economy boomed under Clinton, the budget was balanced and we even generated surplusses. People around the world loved America. We he handed the reins over to Bush, things were doing great.

I think Clinton would have done a much better job of fighting the war on terror than Bush. After 9/11, I could picture him carpet bombing the Middle East....while the press, liberals, allies, etc.....would have been licking Clinton's boots and cheering him on for more.

Yes, Clinton was THE BEST!!

650 plus posts, and no one has questioned why Dan Rather never brought up Juanita Broderick

Maybe, but sometimes it's just more satisfying to use the actual bad word. :)

Reagan was likeable, and the press fawned over him. Everybody liked Reagan,

One word.

Delusional

The press was vicious to Reagan. And at that time there was no 24/7 cable news or internet as an alternative. They constantly complained that he was the 'teflon president' because no matter how much mud they threw at him none of it stuck. And, worse than that, he went over their heads and spoke directly to the American People on radio (didn't he invent the regular Saturday radio spot?) and his television addresses.

I guess the old line is right, if you can remember the 60s (or the 80s) then you really didn't live through them ;^>

No you have your head in the sand, and you are really taking my comments personally. They where not intended to characterize the Boomers on FR. It is obviously true that as a cultural force our generation was overwhelming influenced by the left. Only now in middle age are we starting to get some real movement from the boomers to the middle and to the right as a generation.

Good evening Miss Marple!

Well, I never paid much attention to politics before Clinton. Now I am VERY involved in local politics. I volunteer and do all I can to promote conservatism. I am hosting a PARTY FOR THE PRESIDENT at our house on July 15, inviting all Republicans in the county. Ron Paul's office contacted me and asked me what they can to do help.

Anyone can host one of these parties for the president. Just go to http://www.GeorgeWBush.com

A Party for the President is a grassroots tool that brings together people who support the President. Parties all across the nation can be easily organized and coordinated via GeorgeWBush.com.

I heard George Stepalloverus on TV a year or so ago, saying that he HATED Ronalg Reagan. The other newsperson questioned him on that, and he said "I HATED President Reagan" Geez, why all this personal hatred for another person? Reagan didn't do all the horrible horrible things in office that Clinton did, but the libs still LOVE CLinton!

I can only think that the Bad Baby Boomers (which is what I will now call the leftists of my generation to distinguish them from the rest of us) considered RR as a moral father figure who made the BBBs feel somewhat guilty about their behavior -- at least those who had some sort of a conscience that allowed them to have a little guilt.

I wonder if perhaps a lot of self-absorbed Boomers rethought their lives and attitudes after 8 years of Clinton. I think September 11 also made some people take a second look.

Myself, I voted for GHWB in 92, but when Clinton was elected I told my daughter that I thought we would be ok...after all, we survived Carter. This was in January, before the Inauguration.

It only took about two months before I was muttering at the TV, and by fall of 93 I was in a full-blown rage.

tell me how we won those special elections in south dakota and kentucky. where was your "silent majority"?

Wow you forgot to mention that the questionable indian vote that put the demo in SD. It was closer than any poll was predicting.

In KY, the demo lost his bid for Governorship by a wide margin in 2003, but was popular in his home congressional district.

Why did you leave those facts out "ovulation about Clinton".
