Good grief Sistah, you've gone to the dogs.
And the kitties!
How is Miss Emma??
The Finest Family wants to know..:))
Can't imagine how we muddled through L.B.G. - - Life Before Google !!
I reported on the visit in post #134. She is such a quiet little delicate flower one wonders if she is alright. The Pediatrician says she will sleep and grow for awhile because she was so early. They have her wrapped up tightly in blankets and she is like a little doll. Occasionaly she will screw up her little face in a frown and give a big burp and continue on sleeping. I'm anxious for her to open her eyes and see the world, but I know she has to develop more.
Wow, that is spooky!
Sistah, I just e-mailed you three more pictures. LOL, I'll probably drive you nuts with pictures now. typical Grammy eh?
WOW!
Stay Prayed up!!
How awesome, Dave!!
I Luv Pictures!
(Not here yet.)
You reminded me of how when my daughter, Jennifer, was born, her face was round and squished, and her eyes were tightly shut - full head of dark hair.
In the AF Hospital at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota, to feed your baby, you went to the Nursery and picked it up - then went to a common dining room to feed them with the other mamas.
That way, they could go in and clean and change the beds in your room without disturbing you.
I honestly held up the blanket high not to hide my 'body,' but to hide her from view..:))
She was three days old before her eyes opened, and they were grey rather than blue!
Of course, she transformed into a beautiful little girl in no time...but...not all newborn babies are pretty - lol
Oh, Nan - those are wonderful photographs!
That poor child is going to have to pose at the drop of a hat the next 50+ years, her Dad being a photographer - and Gramma getting her share.
You can almost see what she is thinking!
All kinds of captions come to mind...
She is Love indeed.
This hospital has a wonderful maternity ward. The baby stays with the parents in the room. Roy has slept on a cot in the room since Emma was born. He was with his wife through the C-Section too. He held Emma before her Mama did. I'm really proud of the courage he has shown, in spite of the fact that he said he felt like his heart was being ripped out when they cut his wife. He hung in there.
LOl. You should see the pictures they have already taken. I only took 12 so far. They have pictures of her birth with all the yucky stuff on her. She will probably burn some of them when she grows up, for fear her parents will show them to her boyfriends.
I remember Kelly will be allowed to go home tomorrow - but will Emma, too?
She doesn't seem to have a breathing problem, and apparently is fairly stable - not in NICU, right?
Right. Emma will come home too. She was a bit jaundiced today but apparently not enough for them to be concerned. They will check her again tomorrow. She is getting good care. The staff has been magnificent, treating them like family. Oh, BTW, the doctor who delivered Emma is the mother of one a child who was in Kelly's 1st grade class last year. The hospital was refusing to deliver the baby because they have a rule that they don't deliver before 35 weeks since they don't have a neo-natal unit. They wanted to send them to Columbus, but Kelly begged the doctor to deliver her here. She was crying that she didn't want to go to Columbus. So the doctor put her career on the line and delivered Emma with the agreement that they would send her to Huntington by life-flight if she had any problems. Thank God she did fine and the doctor is off the hook (I hope). She was not Kelly's doctor but was covering for the GYOB was on vacation. Roy & Kelly were comfortable with her because they were already friends and she had been seeing Kelly for two or three weeks. She has a good reputation and is so busy she can't take any new patients. She looked awfully young to me. Ha.
What blessings throughout this event!
Having worked in a major hospital (and 3 others before then) for many years, I understand the complexities of the situation, and how it took God to intervene for Kelly and all of you.
It would have been harrowing to drive all the way to Columbus for Roy and you and Jack, or wherever they choppered her - and to have to stay there in a motel and eat out, etc. - and be among strangers.
Praise a merciful and gracious God!!
Indeed, Praise God. Prayer requests dear Sistah, as I go forth to a new ministry tomorrow morning. That is why I must go to bed now and get a good nights sleep. God bless you for the rock that you are. Loveyou.
Good luck & lotsa prayers for you tomorrow Nan..

EVERYONE SING ALONG!
The name game!
Shirley!
Shirley, Shirley bo Birley Bonana fanna fo Firley
Fee fy mo Mirley, Shirley!
Lincoln!
Lincoln, Lincoln bo Bincoln Bonana fanna fo Fincoln
Fee fy mo Mincoln, Lincoln!
Come on everybody!
I say now let's play a game
I betcha I can make a rhyme out of anybody's name
The first letter of the name, I treat it like it wasn't there
But a B or an F or an M will appear
And then I say bo add a B then I say the name and Bonana fanna and a
fo
And then I say the name again with an F very plain
and a fee fy and a mo
And then I say the name again with an M this time
and there isn't any name that I can't rhyme
Arnold!
Arnold, Arnold bo Barnold Bonana fanna fo Farnold
Fee fy mo Marnold Arnold!
But if the first two letters are ever the same,
I drop them both and say the name like
Bob, Bob drop the B's Bo ob
For Fred, Fred drop the F's Fo red
For Mary, Mary drop the M's Mo ary
That's the only rule that is contrary.
Okay? Now say Bo: Bo
Now Tony with a B: Bony
Then Bonana fanna fo: bonana fanna fo
Then you say the name again with an F very plain: Fony
Then a fee fy and a mo: fee fy mo
Then you say the name again with an M this time: Mony
And there isn't any name that you can't rhyme
Every body do Tony!
Pretty good, let's do Billy!
Very good, let's do Marsha!
A little trick with Nick!
The name game
How about we have a Free Republic Saturday Night Party?
Are you game?
Sorry, I was busy at the Poll on FR, asking if we would buy Clinton's book.
FR Power is showing with the majority telling MSNBC they would not take it if given to them!
A little way down is a LINK to sending e-mail to MSNBC about it...I DID..:))
You bet you will be covered with prayers for your new endeavor, dear Sistah...will ask God to use you in a mighty way in these perilous times...
Good night to you.
LoveU2
