So why are we there? Where else should we be? Has she bothered to look at a map? This is the homeland of the enemy

The Admin needs to improve greatly its PR; find ways to circumvent the mainstream media to get their message out; otherwise, the Administration is going to lose the PR war.

Exactamundo. The administration needs to get Trent Lott off the air and get Cheney out there more. He does a great job making the case. Another thing that needs to be done is to confront these talking faces directly asking them why they are deliberately misrepresenting the facts to the American people. We need better P.R. strategery and this is one way to do it.

A couple of weeks ago, even Brit Hume commented that the Admin PR is 'pathetic.' If Brit sees it [as bad enough to mention on a media broadcast], someone in the WH better wake up and get on the ball. The Admin's losing the PR is their own damn fault; they can't lay that blame on the libs, dems or media. And they need for than touchy-feel-good political ads.

This must have JUST taken place, as he cites the Thompson comments and Kerry's accusation that the President misled us about Iraq (Kerry is the one misleading, of course).

Last night some of us were discussing the Atta issue, as it was characterized as debunked when the actual report contained no new information. I am always pleased to see my observations comport with VP Cheney:

There's a separate question. The separate question is: Was Iraq involved with al-Qaida in the attack on 9/11?

BORGER: Was Iraq involved?

Vice Pres. CHENEY: We don't know. You know, what the commission says is that they can't find any evidence of that. We had one report which is a famous report on the Czech intelligence service and we've never been able to confirm or to knock it down.

Cheney says more on this issue, but what he says is in fact the state of the record. It has never been proven.....or debunked.

BORGER: Any advice for John Kerry's running mate, whomever he may be--or she?

Vice Pres. CHENEY: Well, I offered to head up his search committee but he didn't accept the offer.

LOL

VP is ALWAYS great. VP is twice any candidate the Dims can put forward. He could (should) be POTUS if not for his health.

Maybe Cheney should release his Q&A from his appearance before the Committee. It's what he told them that counts.

CHENEY: ..."Look at the Zarqawi case. Here's a man who's Jordanian by birth. He's described as an al-Qaida associate. He ran training camps in Afghanistan back before we went to war in Afghanistan. After we went in and hit his training camp, he fled to Baghdad. Found safe harbor and sanctuary in Baghdad in May of 2002. He arrived with about two dozen other supporters of his, members of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, which was Zawahiri's organization. He's the number two to bin Laden, which was merged with al-Qaida interchangeably. Egyptian Islamic Jihad, al-Qaida, same-same. They're all now part of one organization. They merged some years ago. So Zarqawi living in Baghdad. We arranged for information to be passed on his presence in Baghdad to the Iraqis through a third-party intelligence service. They did that twice."

This is new news to me. Has anyone heard anything like this before.

Note - I don't think this is the trip to Baghdad to fix up the old leg although I supposed it could be. This is a trip to Baghdad after Zarqawi was kicked out of Afganistan. The fact that the U.S. advised Saddam of his presence is certainly news to me also.

And last - Cheney is ON FIRE.

Borger ain't too bright.

In 2000 when Joe Lieberman said something about religion and morality being essential to a free nation, Gloria thought that was going too far.

Then Bill Bennett pointed out that he was quoting GEORGE WASHINGTON!

They need to stay on this and stay on this and finally start fighting these idiots in the press.

Bring it up every time they go on tv, Condi, Rummy, CHeney...all of em.

It would save them some trobule if they get this message out...and it's preplexing why they didn't start hammering this a LONG time ago.

BORGER: Mr. Vice President, I don't think I've ever seen you, in all the years I've interviewed you, as exercised about something as you seem today.

Vice Pres. CHENEY: I was. I admit, Gloria, and you and I have known each other a long time. But I do believe that the press has been irresponsible, that there's this temptation to take...

BORGER: But the press is making a distinction between 9/11 and...

Vice Pres. CHENEY: No, they're not. They're not. The New York Times does not. The Panel Finds No Qaida-Iraq Ties. That's what it says. That's the vaunted New York Times. Numerous--I've watched a lot of the coverage on it and the fact of the matter is they don't make a distinction. They fuzz it up. Sometimes it's through ignorance. Sometimes it's malicious.

The New York Times will really be out to bring down Dick Cheney now. Look for them to outdo even their vile selves in that mission.

In the meantime, praise God for Dick Cheney saying this. And a big thank you to Drudge for highlighting it.

Reading this, this woman is DENSE. How many times, and in how many ways, did Cheney have to say this? Notice that NOT ONCE did she begin to get into the Atta-al-Ani connection in Czechoslovakia. Not a "How likely was such a meeting?" "What do you think they might have discussed?"

These people are disgusting.

Gov. Thompson particularly outraged by the NYT article..

Even Lee Hamilton - the DemocRAT co-chairman of the commission - basically said the the media reports were full of crap.

The administration and all it's spokesmen need to beat the press like a drum.

They need to point out the the biased reporting, the negligent reporting and the factless reporting is giving support to terrorists.
