The crowd that gave Michael Moore's controversial "Fahrenheit 9/11" a standing ovation last night at the Ziegfeld Theatre premiere certainly didn't have to be encouraged at all to show their appreciation. From liberal radio host and writer Al Franken to actor/director Tim Robbins, Moore was in his element. But once "F9/11" gets to audiences beyond screenings, it won't be dependent on celebrities for approbation. It turns out to be a really brilliant piece of work, and a film that members of all political parties should see without fail.
It may not be a lead balloon...but it truly is marvelous.
Free Republic is marvelous for providing answers. Thanks very much for your comprehensive answer. I realized that he understood the void in the mediasphere, and grasped the opportunity. I just knew nothing of his personal perspective. I will look for the book by Shawcross. Thanks again. Fox news has certainly knocked CNN down in the US. I hope that Sky will do the same for CNN International.
Run run Michael Moore has out a new film !!!!!
I'm really scared,Not.
Wow! That's an impressive drop! The lowest I paid was $1.779. When I filled up yesterday it was $1.899, down about $0.10. Nice, but not as nice as where you are!
When will they spend some time doing a story on the Federal Reserve or The Fair Tax movement???? ............ NEVER!
FoxNews folks are mostly foolish tools of the government too, nearly like SeeBS and the rest of the destructors of the nation! This country is past tense because the media is not a watchdog on government....... FoxNews INCLUDED!!!!
Good Grief...Watch CSpan
fair and balanced?
Greta was hired for exactly that demographic. FNC has the right to make money.
Maybe they are also trying to get more advertising dollars !
Oh my God, I'd rather stick wooden, barnyard needles under my fingernails!
:-)
C-Span is tough to watch except for that show "Booknotes". I think that guy is a good fellow and a great interviewer! Hey, Mara Liason on FoxNews had a new baby, and it seems to have altered her reality somewhat.......... no kidding!
Or sometimes if you're a woman (Liz Smith.)
You also have to be pretty brain-dead to give a flying ball of laundry about the comings and goings of the glitterati, much less to write about it.
Yep, unless you're writing about them in a critical way. But you're not going to get any good gossip if you do write about them in a critical way. Heck, critics who write negative movie reviews sometimes get banned from access to celebrities.
Thanks for the list of attendees for Moore's film premiere. I notice that Tom Brokaw and Brian Williams were at the movie. Gosh, I thought the media had no bias; what in the world would they be doing lending support to Moore?
Roger Friedman is on the take from Miramax and the Weinstein brothers. The Weinstein brother funded his documentary "Only The Strong Survive" and Miramax released it.

Expect more of them to jump on - they've linked to this thread.
Too bad they can't entertain themselves, as evidenced by their daily and constant need to engage us.
Hold on Hold On!!!! Before we get all riled up!!!
Moore is a blatant propaganda artist, but he has film talent. His movies are entertaining. They make you laugh. Only idiots believe them. They are still good "fictitious" films. They always get good reviews. FNC isn't going to give it a bad review b/c of content. C'mon, we know that.
You make a good point. After all, it is just a film review and I think it actually reinforces how fair and balanced FNC is.
Ya just gotta look for the silver lining...
