The crowd that gave Michael Moore's controversial "Fahrenheit 9/11" a standing ovation last night at the Ziegfeld Theatre premiere certainly didn't have to be encouraged at all to show their appreciation. From liberal radio host and writer Al Franken to actor/director Tim Robbins, Moore was in his element. But once "F9/11" gets to audiences beyond screenings, it won't be dependent on celebrities for approbation. It turns out to be a really brilliant piece of work, and a film that members of all political parties should see without fail.
Fox is getting worse by the day. They're becoming a Laci Peterson/OJ tabloid channel.
That Laci Peterson stuff is revolting. I remember when there was nothing but O.J on for 8 months that made me give up on T.V news for good.
Perhaps FNC is following the pattern that has been long established by the powerful - the longer one is in power and the more power one wields, the more leftward one turns.
Thgey seem to be following the pattern long ago set by others who ran as staunch conservatives but turned more socialists the longer they were in office.
Used to really like O'Reilly but he doesn't impress me anymore. Occasionally he makes a good point but he's not that great of thinker. He tries to act like he's fair and balanced so when he criticizes the left he has to throw in a dig at Ashcroft for example. Hannity is a good person I'm sure, but he, like O'Reilly, is way too full of himself.
TV's the worst way to get news anyway. I much prefer FR and talk radio. That's why I haven't plugged our TV back in since cleaning behind it last week. If it was up to me, I'd keep it like that for a long time.
I feel like giving up tv news when they constantly force me to flip the channel due to the wall to wall coverage regarding Laci, Scott and Kobe. The media finally got over the Chandra Levy 24/7 coverage and now they have two cases to run into the ground.
You've gone this long - DON'T PLUG YOUR TV IN AGAIN - NEVER!!
Why do you think they call it "TV Programming"? It's not the TV that they are programming........You'll see for yourself shortly how much different life looks without the TV. Just try it for another week or so - you'll be glad you did.
LOL...good advice...I only use my TV for DVDs myself...I only saw this FoxNews thing on the net and was shocked!
Actually I don't watch it except when something big is going on. I listen to talk radio all day while I'm doing things around my house. But I'm not the only one living here, so it will be plugged back in eventually. Right now I'm stalling for time. I keep saying I've got to finish touching up the ceiling with some paint where the TV sits. It's the truth, but I'm in no hurry to do the touching up. My two year old thinks it's broken because I took the bottom cover off to clean it. Unfortunately, he's already hooked on "nine, nine"--Channel 99 which is Toon Disney. It's a bad habit to start, I know.
If even Fox is now lapping up Moore's swill, what hope is there? And coming soon, the Bubba bookfest, which will exceed all previous levels of media madness. We might even be pining for some more Abu Ghraib bombshells just to relieve the pain of 24/7 Clinton saturation. I tell you, there is no hope.
Maybe they're making room in the market for a new, fair and balanced news channel?
The article is by Roger Friedman, the site's gossip columnist. I wouldn't read too much into his positive review of the movie -- being a liberal is pretty much part of the job description in being a gossip columnist.
Let we welcome another idiot DU'er to FR. You wouldn't know decency if it introduced itself to you.
Hasta la vista, SammyTroll!
On my smoke, Victor Kilo...ZOT!

He doesn't represent Fox News, any more than Bill O'Reilly and his hatred of M.Moore does. The fact they try to be fair and balanced certainly puts them far ahead of CNN and many others, who would not feature diverse and objective views representing the whole spectrum. Those networks only tell one side, your kind of place no doubt.
