RUSH Limbaugh put out a statement yesterday that he and his third wife, Marta, had separated but only after PAGE SIX called to confirm what we'd learned exclusively. Sources in Palm Beach say Marta dumped the burly blowhard and vacated the couple's home on North Ocean Boulevard. The two are quietly working out a divorce agreement. Limbaugh met Marta on the Internet and they married in 1994. Since

I've been thinking about this all day. I wondered why I hadn't heard about the "lovely and gracious Marta" for some time. Anyhoo, Rush might not be the marrying kind........working all the time, stressful situation with a highly rated show, dependency and rehab on drugs. I think he's better off single. And who knows? Marta might have tired of all of it. I think they're both better off........sad to say, but sometimes the pressure just gets beyond some peoples ability to cope with it.
I agree. Plus, I think they were two entirely different personality types. She was an aerobics instructor. She probably was a very active kind of gal. I think he took up golf after he met her. But basically, he's a couch potato. I remember reading that's what his first or second wife said led to their divorce. Young women don't want to sit around the house watching TV or reading computers. Who knows. It's been a very tough year for our Rush.
I am a woman & I suspect she married him for his money & now is cashing in her chips. Remember listening to him talk about Marta's birth week. What kind of a woman demands that her birthday be expanded to last a week. He talked about having to wine & dine her. Rush may not be the easist to live with but I'll bet she was in it for the payoff.
Then what you're saying is he's a terrible judge of character. So what does that make all his other observations? I have more respect for Rush than you do. Maybe after 10 years she realized that they just weren't right for each other.
Not attractive to me. BLECH!
Maybe he is a terrible judge of women. An overweight not especially handsome man might be putty in the hands of a coniving woman. This says nothing about his abilities behind the mic. He is a master at what he does for a living.
I'm not disagreeing with you about his talent. I just think it's odd that he has all these character flaws, but your first reaction is to blame her.
By the way, I basically celebrate my birthday for a week. This year I even threw myself a bowling party. And as fate would have it, I have the same birthday (April 22nd) as Marta. I know this because Rush once talked about how Marta hated having her birthday on EARTH DAY. So do I.
I absolutely agree.
After they married, didn't he pay for tons of cosmetic surgery?
I'd love to see a "before & after" photo of the darling Marta!
As in most divorce cases, fault lies in some degree with both people, but when someone gets divorced and married THREE times, seriously people, something is obvously wrong.
Actually, I would go so far as to say that Rush is more of a threat to the traditional institution of marriage than homosexuals currently are at the moment. Maybe we should enact a Constitutional Amendment disallowing Rush to marry for a FOURTH time, LOL.
Maybe she has more character flaws than he does. I just know that a person with lots of money can be preyed upon by others. John Kerry has honed it to a fine art. As far a a birthday lasting a week, do you celebrate other peoples b-days for a week or just yours?
No, I didn't. Who's jaguar?
My memory isn't what is once was, being 40+ and all. LOL I remember him talking about communicating via writing, but not tht it was the internet. Some people just kept up better on the news than I.
You wouldn't recognize her in her 'before'. When I saw the 'post-Marta' I didn't know that it was the same person.
I love Rush, but what kind of marriage could they have if she didn't know about his addiction?
Maybe a marriage of convenience?
Plastic surgery?
If I recall correctly, jaguar was Marta's nickname.
I don't know if he met her on the Internet, though it would have been possible even 10 years ago. And if not the Internet, then perhaps a bulletin board system.
The last week in May of this year (two weeks ago). I know, because I sent my folks to NYC to see his TV show and it happened to be the first day he was back from the honeymoon - June 6, 1994.
he's had a pretty crappy year
