Drug addicts are very difficult to live with.

She stayed with him for years when he was an addict. They split when he got clean. This is not a surprise to anyone familiar with addictions and codependency. Sobriety wrecks a lot of marriages, and there is plenty of room for fault on both sides.

Divorce is always a bad thing.
Sometimes remaining in a bad marriage is worse, but I don't know anyone who is not devastated emotionally and/or financially by a divorce.
It is somewhat easier without children, but that's about it.
I feel sorry for both of them.
Especially since their private pain will be splashed all over the radio,tv,and print media and the internet.

That was my first thought on the thread last night. I wondered who hired the maid, and whether there was a connection.

Someone from that house sent emails from Rush's computer. Rush could, of course. It has been said that the maid had access to it, too. But so did Marta.

Pure speculation. But it is odd. He seemed so happy for awhile.

Sources that I'm sure are well acquainted with Rush and Marta's relationship and that have not a trace of bias or political demeanor in their attitude what so ever.

Absolutely, if the woman was married to him during the accumulation and that is the law in Texas.

However, if a woman marries a man who is already wealthy, it's sad but true that he probably better have a pre-nup drawn up.

I also don't understand what the big deal is with this. Several divorces didn't hurt Carson's popularity even though family values were more important to the public in those days.
