WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican Sen. John McCain has personally rejected John Kerry's overtures to join the Democratic presidential ticket and forge a bipartisan alliance against President Bush, The Associated Press has learned.
Kerry has asked McCain as recently as late last month to consider becoming his running mate, but the Arizona senator said he's not interested, said a Democratic official who spoke on condition of anonymity because Kerry has insisted that his deliberations be kept private. A second official familiar with the conversations confirmed the account, and said the Arizona senator made it clear he won't change his mind.
Both officials said Kerry stopped short of offering McCain the job, sparing himself an outright rejection that would make his eventual running mate look like a second choice.
``Senator McCain categorically states that he has not been offered the vice presidency by any one,'' said McCain's chief of staff, Mark Salter, who would not confirm the officials' account.
Kerry spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter declined to comment.
Is that clinton or ted kennedy? White hair, big nose. vacuous stupid look, hard to tell the difference. Little help here?
Nah, he needs to be nominated by the GOP and be hitlerys opposition so she becomes president. Besides, he thinks hes got a good thing going with the rising sun of the republican party, he wants the 2008 nomination. Thats my flagrant speculation.
Thanks, I aim to amuse.
I know.
McCain will be 72 in 2008. He won't be running for Pres, and he certainly won't accept a VP nod from the Dems.
McCain to Kerry..."NOT AGAIN!!! He already beat me once."
This was to trick the swing voter. Kerry offers it to show how "moderate" he is. McCain is in on this crap or Kerry would not have oferred it and it wouldn't have run in the media for so long. More lies from McCain, Kerry and the lib media to fool the brainless "swing" voter.
Thanks for that info. I hadn't seen the Old Media report that.
But but..according to the la times..kerry is easily beating President Bush..and according to the same paper..Americans say we had no business in Iraq...I mean..why would kerry have to get a republican..come on..I mean if you can't trust the la times..then who can you trust??? (sarcasm off)...ouch..that hurt..i don't want to be a liberal ever again..not even pretend..oh my head..
It would of helped the Katsup Boy tremendously if McCain accepted since he (McCain) was in Vietnam unlike Ker...
He won't have to wait that long to accept her offer.
The commiecRAT throwaway John F'n Kerry will withdraw
shortly before their convention as planned.
Comrade Rodham will step forward to claim her rightful place as
saviour of the commiecRAT party.
She's got to go for it this time. She knows this is her last opportunity.
Running against incumbent VP Rice is 2008 would be a disaster for Hillary.
Ah why not, McCain would be doing the best thing he could for the party if he'd change affiliations.
I bet the ashtrays are flying fast and furious tonight.
Thanks for reporting the AZ rules - no doubt Cain knows them too...... not that he would give Kerry's "offer" truly serious consideration. He might be flattered to be asked, but Cain is GOP and will remain so.
Is There a Batterer in the US Senate?
According to Christopher Andersen, author of Bill and Hillary, Hillary also assaulted Bill on August 13, 1999, after the Monica Lewinsky revelations. Andersen writes:
"...the President...weeping, begged her forgiveness. Much of what transpired next between Bill and Hillary Clinton was plainly audible to Secret Service agents and household staff members down the hall. In the past, Hillary had thrown books and an ashtray at the President -- both hitting their mark...Hillary rose to her feet and slapped him across the face -- hard enough to leave a red mark that would be clearly visible to Secret Service agents when he left the room.
" 'You stupid, stupid, stupid bastard,' Hillary shouted. Her words, delivered at the shrill, earsplitting level that had become familiar to White House personnel over the years, ricocheted down the corridor."
Yes, but he milked it for all it was worth until he sensed the tide turning. Rather Clintonesque, IMHO.
You must be local (AZ). Nobody else calls her Napoloreno but us.
