Nah, he needs to be nominated by the GOP and be hitlerys opposition so she becomes president. Besides, he thinks hes got a good thing going with the rising sun of the republican party, he wants the 2008 nomination. Thats my flagrant speculation.
McCain will be 72 in 2008. He won't be running for Pres, and he certainly won't accept a VP nod from the Dems.
