The national organization, Move America Forward, is asking Americans who are offended by Michael Moore's "Bash America" movie to voice their opinions to movie industry executives.
We've compiled a list of email addresses and other contact information for the leading movie industry chains - as well for those theaters who have already announced their intention to show "Fahrenheit 9/11."
Please Note - We note Mr. Moore's constitutional right to free speech. What we also acknowledge that Mr. Moore and his backers seem uncomfortable with is that the millions of Americans who are offended by his lies, his attacks on our troops and our president have the right to speak up and say what we think about his "documentary" to the people who will profit from showing it.
Please read more about our efforts - this is the link - http://www.moveamericaforward.org/newsmax/
Oh I think we should just let it ride, and laugh at it whenever anyone mentions it. Derision is what this steaming pile needs, not more attention from efforts to shut it down.
It is BS, anyone who wants to see it should feel free to see it. Viewing that drivel will only make them stupider."
Huh? Did you bother to go to the www.MoveAmericaForward.org website and look up who the leaders are before you posted that?
If not - you should. Check out the "Who We Are" section. It's the leader of the Recall Gray Davis Committee, the Defend Reagan Committee (protested CBS' miniseries "The Reagans") a Republican legislator, leading conservative radio talk show host, head of the National Tax Limitation Committee.
You may not agree with the strategy - fair enough to have a different point of view - but your post suggests you didn't look into the matter before you speculated this was a pro-Moore conspiracy or something to that effect.
If you want to fight Moore, make fun of his sloppy commie fat arse (i.e. Michael Moore Hates America) but don't start a campaign like this.
This has O'Reilly suing Franken written all over it.
The best way to deal with Michael Moore and His CROCKumentary is to ignore him.
Another must ignore: Harry Thomass's "The Hunting of the President" How the VRWC tried to destroy Bill Clinton. To which I say.... nah, I'm too much of a lady to say that.
Not a documentary... a CROCKumentary.
Being a total sc*ew off in school I was lucky enough to read a book entitled Fahrenheit 451. It literally changed my life. We were assigned 2 chapters to read, I read the entire book that night. Ray Bradbury is possibly the finest SiFi writer of all time. It saddens and disgusts me that this a**hole has ruined my fond memory of this fine novel.
Bump
Just as was the case with rallying Americans to voice their OPINIONS to CBS about their plans to air the anti-Reagan miniseries "The Reagans" - so too must Americans voice their opinions about showing an anti-Bush campaign commercial that attacks our troops and the war on terrorism.
If you don't speak up your voice will never be heard. The left recognizes this in the anti-war effort underway right now. Conservatives who support Bush and the war on terrorism? Most of them are all too silent right now.
Well, more power to you I just think the best way to neutralize a communist Jaba the Hutt with a camera is to make fun of the fact he is a communist Jaba the Hutt with a camera thats all.
But believe me I'm all for fighting leftist @$$clowns at every opportunity until they throw my ashes in the sea. We just have different strageties. I think this will give him more cred than he's worth which is absolutely nothing.
We can picket the theaters, where it is being shown.
Some suggested signs:
Michael Moore is a liar.
Michael Moore is a traitor.
Michael Moore is a media whore.
Michael Moore sucks.
I am sure that others can come up with some more ideas.
yum crow, please pass the ketchup.
I saw Fatso's ad yesterday afternoon while at a local Cantina. I didn't hear it (sound turned down), but what drew my attention to it was when I heard a voice say, "There's a fat **** who should be harpooned and left for scavengers." Several people voiced agreement.
I think this is a scam to swindle $$$ out of well-meaning people. Two thumbs down.
Let the film open. The media will mention it (amazing how much free press he gets), by week three it will be gone.
Ignore him. Don't be controlled by him. Believe me, people will not choose his film over the other drek in the theatre.
You misspelled "their"....
As usual the conservatives are carping about "enemies" and anti-americanism. It's always the bad guys, the evil-doers, the people out to get you. Someone even brought the Clintons into this thing. I'm sure this is all part of a well-heeled liberal plot. Just because someone is trying to present a side of the story that connects oil, cronyism and Bush to the house of Saud, the right-wingers get all in a tizzy. Open your minds for once. Sadly enough, this isn't even the nut fringe of the Consevative movement.
