Brit Hume spoke early on when these mugs were flahed on the screen that the Clinton's came in (the cathedral) with quite amount of showcasing. Don't remember the exact word Hume used and he didn't go into any details.THEY PROBABLY DID.... ALL SMILES WAVING AT PEOPLE, and when people responded respectivally with a nod and that is it, that put them in their place and that is why the long faces. They probably didn;t get the attention they so wanted.
They make me ill, ill, ill.

You have described exactly the thought and feeling I had when I witnessed this. I actually freepmailed someone privately my thoughts along the same lines, not wanting to mar the thread with public commentary, but feel this thread is appropriate to discuss.
The service was absolutely stunning and filled with God and so triumphed over this bizarre sideshow.

"This went on and on, from bobbing heads, bobbing in tandem to alternating closed eyes to in tandem closed eyes, closed for just about the duration..."IMHO, this was them trying to look pious, sorrowful, and as if the words and/or music meant something to them... "prayerfully listening", or "nodding in agreement"...
But funny how the words "miserable failure" come to mind...now where did I hear that expression?!

Chris Matthews commented on Clinton speaking with Kerry in a "backroom deal" manner.

I bow my head and close my eyes when I pray. I thought bowing the head is a sign of revernece to the Almighty?

As Yogi Berra observed, "You gotta go to people's funerals. If you don't go to theirs, they won't come to yours!"

Oh for sure. The post to which I was responded said he looked like he wanted to smack Clinton in the back of the head. My response was that he looked like he was in dream land rather than worrying about slapping Clinton in the back of the head.
To: cyncooper
That's interesting. I'm always surprised if Matthews says anything remotely negative about any Democrat.

Being at work, I Humbly Thank You for posting that AVI! I've just forwarded that to others.
After viewing the video, it appears Satan is having an unusually difficult problem keeping Hillary 'still' today.

Do you REALLY think they were actually praying? OK, maybe for Hillary to be the nominee instead of Kerry. Maybe that. But for anyone else in that building? Nah. Couldn't happen. WOULDN'T happen. No way. No how.

OneTimeLurker, I wasn't flaming you! Promise! I was just commening that Ford is getting very, very old. Bless his heart.
There are alot of older folks in that room that are not as spry as they used to be. This is a big deal to them, but must be very, very tiring. (Not an excuse for the Clinton's though, by a long shot!)
