LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
ABC was just showing them. It's a shame I don't have cabel at work.
I am curious why Reagan's children have not had more of a role in this proceeding. Any reason why they are not with their mother or are they are and I am not seeing them?
yep
The motorcade is now leaving the grounds. I am apalled at my ignorance - I decided I'd just keep responding to myself so someone could kinda find my last post, toggle back through and then read from the beginning. Unfortunately - I am realizing I know so little. bah.
The police are out in front, lights ablaze.
Why thank you very much.
I disagree. In fact, I was just about to post that Major Jackman has been nothing less than the perfect escort throughout this ordeal.
Thank You,lovely music but sad.
they were there and are standing in the background.
Even the flag was waving particularly beautifully over the Capitol at half staff.
haven't seen a picture of the disgraced one and the peanut farmer!Tires probably came off his car...
Thank you for posting that part of his letter
I hope that President Bush really soars today-- President Reagan tends to bring out the best in all of us.
In my opinion, it's the liberal side that allows one to care about "the way things look." We all have one. Don't let it matter to you because it's insignificant. (I'm with you)
I just heard on WABC radio in NY that Rush is starting his show earlier..he'll be doing the commentary during the funeral service?. any more info on this..?
The hearses, however, and Nancy's limo are Cadillacs.
I understand the children will be very active in the private burial service this evening.
When an active duty member of the Armed Services dies, a Casualty Assistance Officer is assigned to the family to help them through the funeral, and beyond if required. Obviously, for so important a person as a former President, one has been assigned to Mrs. Reagan. A high-ranking one at that. He's responsible for assisting her through the ceremonial duties that lie ahead. Generally, he'll prompt her when she should stand, what comes next in the funeral service, and what not. Of course, he'll provide all possible assistance, including emotional support, to Mrs. Reagan during the hard days ahead. Barring something unforeseen, he will be with her through the whole thing.
I think it's terrible the way Michael has put put in the back like an after thought in every single event!!!!
The Reagan children have been there. The cameras don't always focus on them since Nancy is standing with her military escort a bit apart from the rest of the family.
