Oh good, Nancy really did need a hug. I hope he kissed her cheek too. I watched her at the service Wednesday and I knew that everyone wanted to, but nobody did, and she really did need a hug.

Could it be that carnations last longer before wilting... and it looks like the carnations are red white and blue... I don't think there are blue roses....
Just a thought...

This morning, Colin Powell paid great tribute to President Reagan in an interview on FNC. He reminded us how demoralized our military had been when Reagan first took office.
Described how Reagan brought pride and strength back to our military.

I wondered why the wreaths weren't a little more imaginative with flowers, but thought maybe they went with what would stand up to the length of time they'd be used.

Good catch. I didn't write the caption.
I guess according to the AFP (French Press Agency), I guess President Reagan's funeral is lavish. unlike that state funeral they just had for Louis XVIII's heart.

I'm so torn again, I just switched off C-Span because of the unbelievable callers. What rock do these people crawl out from?

CSpan is taking non-stop called from disgruntled liberals, so I can't stand to watch from there. Back to Fox. And this live thread of course. :^)

I am sure all the stations will not be talking it up during the service so provided Fox has good camera coverage I am going to watch that station.

Time and Newsweek have come out with commemorative issues - that are mostly about Reagan - both have same picture on cover.

I think they use less water than roses, and since the wreaths had to stay in place with no care at all (since it was open 24 hours and people were always walking through) they couldn't even mist the wreaths.

That is one beautiful rose... but it is the wrong color for a patriotic display. Needs to be deeper, richer, and darker...The blue carnation is that color...

On that note, anyone else see Charlie Gibson on ABC rewriting history and talking about how civility reigned in the 80s. I was around for the 80s. I recall then Pres. Reagan being vilified as a nincompoop, a menace, a tool of the rich. Gee, I don't recall all theat much civility, except on Pres. Reagan's part.
Then on MSNBC, Douglas Brinkley (the historian who couldn't be bothered to find that one other member of Kerry's Band of Brothers) was saying how he didn't think President regan wouldn't be remembered as one of the top five presidents, maybe down near number 10. Brinkley also said that while they (meaning us dumb yahoos apparently) got Pres. Reagan's name on an airport and a building already, it was NEVER going to make it on any currency. No-one would ever take Hamilton off the tenner
