LIVE THREAD: Pres. Bush pays respects and calls on Mrs. Reagan
Posted on 06/10/2004 2:28:07 PM PDT by alisasny
Alot of dignataries are now showing up to pay respects. McCain, Guiliani, Gorby, Karzai, etc.
Cspan has live coverage. Bush expected at 7 but could be earlier? He is then going to visit with Mrs. Reagan.
Guard changes about every half hour at .28 and .58 of the hour. One is going on right now.

The lady LC has wings! Maybe that lady A-10 driver, and unit CO, who refused to wear the Burka and ride in the back seat of the car in Saudi? :) Probably not, but it's nice to think it might be.

It wasn't mere tolerance, it was respect for a well thought out argument. (If this is your thought processes fatigued, I will look forward your other posts.)and thank you for your kind comments. Your reply humbles me (not that it's needed)and I look forward to a later interlude with you BBL and I will do my "bestest" to not be fatigued while posting! : )

I remain amazed by the endless stream of mourners paying tribute. What do you think the final tally will be, between Simi and D.C.? 250,000? More?
To: oceanview
I think that was the good ole boy coming out of him just wanting to be a man of the people kind of thing.. but Barbara shut it down fast. I couldn't tell if it was the general population he was talking to or the "official" section.
Replaying Bush Jr now.

I don't think I have seen any military in uniform not salute as they go by I would hope not, it would be an extreme breach of custom, and disrespectfull to boot.

"Did you just see the scout and his dad salute? Oh boy..."
Here's a few vid caps of that priceless memory. Every time I see the kids showing their respect, I know Reagan is smiling. I smile every time I hear the babies make noise to hear their own echo and I'm so glad the Reagans are willing to share this with the nation.
To: NautiNurse
That was something I will remember forever.
Walesa is a good man.

I was awestruck this afternoon when Gorbachev paid his respects. Posted a quote earlier where Gorby said he is taking Reagan's death very hard.

I don't mean to be too morbid, but, your pictures remind me that we are all but vapor. They should cause us to reflect on the true importance of our lives. What we can do to leave a legacy in this world. This is what matters the most.
To: Rainmist
Typo, I hit abuse to pull it.
