Yep...out here in CA, from this morning after they left the Library.

I'm still looking for someone from OC who's going to go up there Friday. Any takers?

You know, this is Ronald Reagan's State Funeral Ceremony -- you'd think CSPAN would get a clue.

The thought is that the boots face one more time backwards towards the servicemen who follow behind.

I believe that is the tradition.

Rather just talked about a great shift the weekend before the election of Reagan over Carter in 1980. Up till then it had been a close race?...

I don't remember that at all.

You know there is going to be a crowd number comparison between this procession and Kennnedy's <PIf it makes Reagan look more popular, there won't be.

There's a newer term, "cremains" for "cremated" remains which I find to be a bit tacky. But my understanding is that "Remains" is ok... better than corpse. Body is ok too. Can't really think of anything else to call it.

"There is a connection to Lincoln, but I forget what."

They are using the same horses that pulled Lincoln's caisson.

"He was not an intellectual"

Intellectual is more and more coming to mean "educated beyond your IQ" or at the very least, "educated beyond common sense."

Having ridden horses quite a bit - I'm at a loss as to how they'd stay in either case...

There's a little leather strap near the top of the boot which holds them to the saddle. You can see it on the close-ups.

Dems have very "selective" memories. They have failed
to remember what deep doo-doo Carter had this country
in and Reagan turned it around.
