If they had, the ACLU would already have their attorneys in high gear looking to sue someone. Grrrr...
You get all kinds. I've been here a long time. If some goober wants to criticize me for what I post, that's his prerogative. It's an opinion board, for God's sake.
Superb eulogy by Cheney. Bush just ran a positive ad on FOX. Guess he found out that Kerry has been running negative spots.
I should have figured that Kerry wouldn't show up. He would look like a face in the crowd.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
You are right, it is a lost art.
Right-click and select "Show Picture" instead of refreshing the page.
Wow, no kidding.......
You are right. I had to turn to C-Span and then MSNBC in order to tape what has gone and is going on.....
Shame Fox needed to air the mouthy instead. This disappoints me. Also Hume tinging stuff with a Dem cast at times, just casting very slight aspersions.
It is a beautiful, elegant procedure to watch.
HOLY COW ... C-span did a wide shot of the crowd waiting
WOW!!!
people standing 20+ deep as far as the eye can see. WOW!
Kerry is NOT there because he'd have to SHARE the limelight with many dignitaries.....and he'd come up short....betcha he shows up later....for his own PERSONAL time...with photographers etc....
I am so sick of the media trying to explain the lines of people and portray Nancy's past many years as some sort of oddity. To me it's just more proof of how little they know of those who love their country and their families, who live with a sense of honor and duty.
Excellent pictures. Thanks!
I gloried in the disciple of the troops, the caisson carrying the President's casket to the clip-clop sounds of horses' hooves, the strong warriors carrying that 700 lb. casket up the steep stairs, the orations within...Dick Cheney's perfect-toned eulogy, the pathos of Nancy's face, etc.etc.etc.
I am so glad to have been alive this day to witness this ceremony.
Wow! I am beyond speechless. What a great honor to RWR for Margaret Thatcher to go to the rotunda today. Her appearance at Friday's national services would have been all we could have hoped for since she's suffered several small strokes in recent years.
I'm a sweet one myself...with some mischievousness thrown in. :o)
I noticed that too, but during the funeral I didn't think it appropriate to bring it up.
I also noticed that Brit immediately jumped on her, saying that those people were standing 10 deep in terrible heat to honor President Reagan. I can't remember exactly what he said, but I considered it a pretty good slap down!
"Kerry: Indecent Exposure at Reagan Library" EDITORIAL CARTOON.
They are stacked up all the way past the Mall.
I've just been watching.......and you know what, the media is SURPRISED.........they are REALLY, HONESTLY surprised!
And I tell you what else: I believe that Nancy Reagan is truly stunned at the outpouring of affection from the PEOPLE............I thinks she's spent her whole life around DONORS! Not saying that ugly -- but I think she may be shocked at this turnout.......
