LIVE THREAD: Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Arrival at the Capitol

Arrival at Andrews Air Force Base scheduled for 5 P.M. EDT.

Beginning of procession: 16th and Constitution at 6:00 P.M.

The procession begins at 16 th Street and Constitution Avenue with the ceremonial transfer of remains of former President Ronald Reagan from a hearse to a horse-drawn caisson for the processional to the Capitol. The casket transfer will take place at 6 p.m. and caisson continues east with formal military escort.

The public will be able to pay final respects while the remains lie in state in the Capitol rotunda from 7:00 p.m. through Friday, June 11, 2004 at 9:30 a.m.

NBC talking about the day the secret service had to tell him he couldn't ride his horses anymore....continuing on with his later years. Secret service agent...more tears.

storms took out my sat so I too have tuned into NBC just in time to hear that same discission. Sad moment

Well if the president's choose their own funeral, you know it will be the biggest and most elaborate ever and cost the taxpayers bazillions and no one will show up.

I would think they would stand silent, I doubt anyone clapped when JFK went by.

People didn't clap on solemn occasions in the 60s; they do now, even in church. I don't care for it myself, but it doesn't mean any disrespect -- quite the opposite, I think.
