Ted Rall is on H & C being about as obnoxious as anyone could be. Hannity has now called him evil, mean, cruel, thoughtless, without a soul, and the rant goes on!!! Well, Sean is doing well, although I think Ted Rall should be ignored. Even Colmes told him that he makes liberals look bad.

In a just world, Reagan would burst out of his coffin and strangle Kerry at the effrontery of his appearance. Or perhaps a bolt of lightning for effect.

Actually, Reagan would burst out of his coffin and say, "Well, there you go again."

Apologies if somebody else already said this. I didn't read all 800 posts.

I have a question: all week long Larry King has been saying that Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter would be on his show tonight; evidently Carter is a no-show.

Has Carter said ANYTHING about Reagan?

In my opinion Free Republic is intended to be a counter balance in an ocean of liberalism.

However good the intentions, I don't think a website can do that in today's mass media landscape. Like taking a poll on the Free Republic and asking, "Who do you support, Kerry or Bush?" We are basically preaching to the choir.

There is no excuse for the behavior of John Kerry on this day-his line jumping photo-op today, revealed not only his contempt for the solemn occasion, but his disrespect for every ordinary American waiting for hours in line.

Well of course. He is just another in a long line that will attempt to use this solemn event as a political vehicle. He will not gain political mileage from this. Regardless of who is doing this, it's easily recognized and very disrespectful. It's trailer trash politics.

John Kerry is a bluenosed, arrogant sonovabitch, and I would wait in line all day for the opportunity to tell him that to his face

Yes, but repeating it 5000 times to the choir, will not counter balance that sea of liberalism you spoke of.

Personally, with the passing of President Reagan, I am hoping that this may bring this country closer together, a very small chance, but the potential is there.

It's my opinion that the divisiveness and complete separations of political ideas are poisoning this country. The hate and anger of this division are titanic as are the differing political agendas. It seems the United America as I remember it, seems to have faded into a chaotic name calling punch fest where few agree on even fewer issues.

The optimism I had some years ago, like Reagan had, seems to have faded.

I don't know what it would take to bring this country together to be united again. There has always been differences of opinions but today the discord and separation seem epic and borderline dangerous in my opinion.

"Actually, he never walked past, from reading the reports. He popped out of the "holding room" sort of like a cuckoo out of a clock, did his little lip-biting routine, crossed himself, put his hand over his heart, and left"

We all know that President Bush would wait his turn, rather than jumping ahead of the " little people."
Kerry despised President Reagan and his appearance by the bier, is nothing more than a cheap photo op.

Kerry is like Bill Murray's character in Groundhog Day.
He says the same things about pro military, anti tax, anti communist, anti terror conservative Republican presidents year, after year, after year.
He railed against President Reagan's support of the military and war against communism.
Kerry called President Reagan a " warmonger " and " an international bully." Kerry accused the Reagan administration of " substituting public relations for diplomatic relations" when we invaded Grenada.
Kerry said at the time, that there was " no substantial threat to US interests and American lives were not endangered."
How about this for deja vu ?
Kerry said the invasion " heightened world tensions."
Kerry said on the Senate floor that the Nicaraguan freedom fighters were " a mercenary army, which has been guilty of atrocities against civilians."
Kerry said the freedom fighters had resorted " to terrorist methods " to undermine the Marxist Sandinistas.
Kerry charged that " the American people are being misled " about what the Reagan administration was doing in Nicaragua.
Kerry rallied antiwar activists to oppose President Reagan's military build up.
According to the Congressional Quarterly,Kerry voted against President Reagan 73 % of the time.
Kerry lead a movement to bring impeachment charges against President Reagan.
As an aside, Kerry was instrumental in trying to destroy Col Oliver North.
In July 1988, Kerry held a press conference in Boston, where he told reporters that " the Justice Dept under Ronald Reagan and George Bush had been a failure in the fight against crime and the war on drugs."
And a drum roll please;
Kerry said that Reagan's economic policies had created a situation " worse than the Great Depression."

For some icing on the cake-I have seen it reported on a number of sites, that Kerry apparently wears a hairnet to bed.

Very choreographed. No casket, no need to get permission from the family. [I'm speculating on that last part.]

What where you saying ???

And feel free to punch your computer screen .. I did

We all know Kerry's still going on Friday....if he's not there Wednesday night!

And Thursday night, when he just happens to be in the area. < /sarcasm>

when Kerry will start to display his "Reaganesque" attributes.

You just made my stomach turn, literally.

The first debate, if Kerry does decide before then to do as you say, Bush could say "I knew Ronald Reagan, and YOU SIR ARE NO RONALD REAGAN."

And then he should walk over and deck Kerry.

I can dream can't I?

I can't believe all that BS transpired. I am reading this thread and my stomach hurts.

If I get Friday off of work because of the Federal Holiday for the Day of Mourning, I think I will donate the day's pay back to the great school I work at. That'll be my tribute to President Reagan.

The library is now saying that by the time they are finished, there will have been 100,000 people through there!

They have changed the time to "get on the shuttle bus by 7:30 PDT!"

They're going to be in there all night!

Oh, I forgot to add this: I heard today that the library says that there is a chance that the grave site will be opened on Sunday, if not before.
