From www.dennisprager.com:

The Latest:

March with Dennis! Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, June 8, starting at 8:30am in front of the Hall of Administration at Temple and Grand.

Dennis will be there,
leading the way to save the Cross on the County seal.

Bring signs! Bring your passion!
Let's not let the ACLU Taliban and their collaborators change Los Angeles history.

There is good parking in city lots nearby.

Don't Let Them Change the LA County Seal!

Stop the ACLU!

Call, fax, email or write to the Supervisors Molina, Burke and Yaroslavsky and tell them you want to keep the seal just as it is.

Here's a list of numbers and addresses. http://lacounty.info/Contact%20Information%20-%20English.pdf or http://bos.co.la.ca.us

Here's a picture of the Los Angeles County Seal that the ACLU wants to change. They want the county to remove the Cross because they think it makes people who are not Christian uncomfortable.

Click here to see the seal.

Because of the religious implication of sainthood, the Council will also be voting to change the name of the San Andreas Fault to George Bush's Fault.

LOL!

LA county does not want to spend the resources to take this to the Supreme Court.

This is a red herring, in that several law firms have offered to do this pro bono.

Here's another update for you:

Dennis called in at 11:30 AM. He said that approximately 2000 people showed up at the rally with approx. 750 inside at the meeting. He recorded what he said and will play it on the air tomorrow morning. The board of supervisors were amazed at the turn-out. Ha!!

You can listen to Dennis online at http://www2.krla870.com/listen/

I believe that his program starts at 9 AM, Pacific time.

Over and out.

RALLY UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!

Crowd estimated at 1500 by the LA County Safety Police.

1/4 of the crowd estimated to be Jews, per Dennis Prager.

Conclusion...Very successful!!!!!

I got there about 7:00. Dennis and his producer arrived about 8:00. The crowd extended down street from the corner of Grand and Temple in front of the Hall of Administration Building....so many people that some went to the other side by the Cathedral. Many people just showed up. I had made 8 signs and 7 of them landed in the hands of other supporters. Some people would drive around the block with signs and flags attached to their cars and honk as they passed by. I heard only one woman on a bicycle and saw one driver giving a hand signal in dissent! Otherwise, once the passersby realized what the cause was they would show support.

Highlights: A female Cantor leading a group (multi race, creed, color, religion) marching up and down the street singing "God Bless America"!!!

750 seats in the Board of Supervisors' Board room were FILLED with protesters while hundreds kept demonstrating outside.

HONKING CARS: including police, sheriffs, safety police, fire departments, various county employees, and a very loud Coca Cola semi!!!!!

Thankx for the ping...

My mom, Husband, daughter and myself went out to pay our respects to Pres. Reagan last nite. From Burbank we left at 9:30pm (in hopes to miss the crowds, ha, ha).... We returned home at 5:00am.

At 7:30am I got a call from my neighbor telling me he is keeping his 4 children out of school today to protest the ACLU at city hall... I couldn't go (only two hours of sleep)... I wish I could have been there..

They said it was awesome... I can't wait to see the pix...

In reality we have every right to focus on religion and Christianity in particular. heck, the aclu is lucky it's not a crucifix on the seal! LOL. since the 'missions' were Catholic.

Of course we do, but the question is what is effective. I realize that, for Christians, there is a difference – and the ACLU is (in my opinion, deliberately,) misinterpreting the establishment clause – but if this were not about the Cross, but about the oil derricks on the seal, or some other aspect of the seal that would be wrong as well. It would not be as blatantly offensive to Christians as the removal of the Cross is to Christians but I would argue that it should be.

As a Christian I don’t care what the L.A. County board of supervisors thinks about the Cross. The Cross, to me, symbolizes the fact that God became man and of His own volition died on that Cross for my sins, and the sins of the members of the L.A. County board of supervisors for that mater. I realize that – at this time – the reason (the main reason) that the ACLU is pushing to remove the Cross is, because it is a cross. But give them an inch and they will take a mile.

There were in Christian missions in California, that is an historic fact. Removing the Cross from the seal will not alter my faith, removing the Cross will not alter history; but, removing the Cross will alter something that was – at least in part – designed to remind us of the history of the origins of California.

By cowering down and being 'afraid' to mention Christianity, that misses the point.

I really do not think so. The idea is to win. I certainly am not advocating denying the Christian symbolism of the Cross. And, again, I acknowledge that the ACLU’s interest was sparked because it was a Cross. But this is about truth, not faith.

I understand your anger but I think the more people who oppose this revision of history the better. They can’t affect my faith – religions tend to do better when oppressed, if we want to save souls perhaps we should let them have there way – but if tyranny were ever to exist, in this country, it would have to start with the denial of history.

That is why I think it is a good to keep overt religion out of this

By the way, the meeting will be transcribed by Thursday and you can read the transcript here when it comes out. Don't expect it earlier than Thursday, though.

The ACLU is for the cross!!!!

But only when it is associated with hate.

From the ACLU website, they have a list of what they think are their 100 most important cases. Here's one:

From Aaron's Rantblog:

ACLU Taliban in Los Angeles - I’ve Got A Bullhorn… and I Know How To Use It!

Why was there so little on my blog, today? Been busy gathering first hand news for my loyal readers, that's why!

I went to downtown Los Angeles to protest the removal of a cross from the Los Angeles County Seal. See my first post Save Los Angeles - It's Time to Fight the Secular Taliban for some background.

Radio host/columnist Dennis Prager came to rally what Free Republic suggests was 2000 with 750 inside -- but I think this is high by at least 20-30%. (Update... the Los Angeles Daily News thinks otherwise! See first article listed under the Los Angeles Daily News, below.)

I arrived with my sister-in-law at about 8:40 am and there were banners and flags but the crowd was sparse and quiet, maybe 70 on one side of the street and a dozen on the other. By the time Dennis Prager arrived, the crowd had thickened rapidly, easily 300. By 9:30, it was well-packed and estimates were that the crowd was approaching 1000.

Did I say "the crowd was sparse and quiet"? Oh... that was until I took out my bullhorn and got the first crowd chants going. First was a warm up of "Honk for History", enlisting many, many sympathetic drivers. But what seemed to rouse the crowd was a chant I made up on the fly, "A-C-L-U [beat] Taliban, We Don't Want You!" I can't manage my bullhorn and my video camera at the same time, so you can't hear it. All I know is that about a dozen people came up to me shortly thereafter asking if I was with any organization.

Remind me to buy a case of lozenges to store with my bullhorn. At least the crowd was spared my feeble singing ability that I displayed last year while protesting Michael Moore at the 2003 Oscars (go read Rantblogger FReeps the Oscars… or I got blisters on my tonsils!) and sang the Star Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful and led the Pledge of Allegiance [special slow loud emphasis on the words UNDER GOD].

Coverage included:

More coverage from Aaron's Rantblog

By the way, the bullhorn shown was first used to FREEP Michael Moore at the 2003 Oscars! See Rantblogger FReeps the Oscars… or I got blisters on my tonsils! (has photos!)

Protesting the Secular Taliban – Photos of Dennis Prager Grabbing the Bullhorn by the …

More scenes from the protest:

Huge crowd. Honking horns. No amplification. Not a good recipe.

Aaron hands Dennis his personal Rantblogging bullhorn (doesn't EVERYONE have one?!?). Instead of pressing on talk button, Dennis presses another button and ejects the batteries. We almost have it figured out but the bullhorn siren is going off. Aaron fixes everything, hands Dennis the functional bullhorn and, with a smirk, Dennis proceeds.

Dennis... wowing the crowd. What? No pitchforks? No burning effigies? Tar and feathers? Oh... these are RELIGIOUS American protesters, Christians, Jews, Buddhists and athiests all rallying together. THESE are American values... not the ACLU-castrated bureaucrats behind the doors. Dennis eventually gets a better amplification system, but this was better than nothing.

Keep tuned to the Rantblog. More photos and videos to come!

Anybody know the source of the tune that Dennis uses as a bumper on his radio show? Its a very infectious, bouncy, and jazzy tune and definitely from a movie. I thought it was 'To Live and Die In LA' but I don't think thats right. Maybe the French Connection? Does anybody know it?
