FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEConservatives to protest "Stars for Kerry" concert in Los Angeles
Los Angeles - Members of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Free Republic Network (also known as the "Hollywood Resistance Force") plan to join other local supporters of President Bush on MONDAY, June 7 at 6 p.m., as they protest the appearance of Barbra Streisand, Willie Nelson, Billy Crystal and Neil Diamond at a million-dollar fundraiser for John Kerry at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.Carrying large signs that say "OUR GOVERNOR can beat up YOUR CANDIDATE!" and "Only FOREIGN LEADERS (and Hollywood "Has Beens") like John Kerry," they intend to challenge the conventional wisdom that California is a "lost cause" for President Bush this fall.
"We support President Bush," says L.A. FRN Chapter Vice President Ron Smith, "and we believe that Governor Schwarzenegger's proven ability to energize Californians to recall Gray Davis last year will insure that we also 'terminate' John Kerry this year."
By harnessing the power of the Internet, the Free Republic Forum (FreeRepublic.com) gave birth to a new level of grassroots activism that demonstrates how dedicated citizens can effect change by awakening and mobilizing the vast numbers of Americans who still support the rule of law. The Free Republic Network (FreeRepublic.net) organizes, educates, and supports grassroots activists and connects national organizations with grassroots groups and activists across the country that share their common goals and beliefs.

After-action report: FReepers, "Flipper" - and "Flip Flop" Kerry in East Los Angeles (5/5)

Kerry event FReeped today outside Woodrow Wilson High School in East LA
First of all let me say thank you to all those who were present today for the FReeping; We did a GREAT job, considering we didn't have much time to prepare, and that today is a weekday. I must say, I was somewhat disapointed that "Mr. Kerry" didn't get to see us, but as I'm sure, RonDog, and other FReepers present will tell you, we still got noticed by everyone else.
The highlight of the FReeping was of course "FLIPPER" (the dolphin); This guy stood there in a dolphin suit for some two hours, and let me tell you, IT WAS VERY HOT, that poor guy... RonDog also had the GREAT idea of bringing some "flipper" balloons which got a lot of attention. We had a lot of home made signs, and a few Bush/Cheney signs and stickers provided by Mr.Oscar Gutierrez, who also did a great job talking to some of the media people who were present. The flip-flops were EVERYWHERE, From a Flip-Flop shaped sign, to a bag full of flip-flops for everyone on the back.
Nonsurprisingly, there was some people who were really angry about us "ruining their party", there was some yelling, and more middle fingers than I could count; at the same time, there were some who waved and honked horns, I never get tired of this.
GREAT JOB FReepers!!
P.S.: I will try to get you guys some pictures before the end of the day...

Thank you for your offer to design some sort of GRAPHIC for Monday's FReep, doodlelady!OUR

WIMPY
CANDIDATE!
I originally liked the idea of showing Arnold as the bully from the old "Charles Atlas" ads, kicking sand in the face of the "98-pound weekling" John Kerry......but I am now leaning more towards some sort of homage to the images created by Free Republic's own parody masters, REGISTERED and counterpunch, like THESE:
That SHOULD have been:
"...I originally liked the idea of showing Arnold as the bully from the old "Charles Atlas" ads, kicking sand in the face of the "98-pound weakling" John Kerry...
Sign Suggestions:
VETERANS DON'T LET VETERANS VOTE FOR KERRY
...the BEST way to honor President Reagan may be to still FReep them......but with slightly MODIFIED signs,
perhaps something like THIS:
AMERICA
REMEMBERS RONALD REAGAN,
THE
"GIPPER."
HOLLYWOOD
RAISES MONEY FOR JOHN KERRY,
THE
"FLIPPER!"
My, those liberal Hollywood Jews sure are pro-Israel, aren't they? Nothing but Sharonist Likkudnik Israbots! [/sarcasm]
I'm still waiting for for Spielberg and Dershowitz to come out and demonstrate their "devotion to Israel" by stumping for a man who would make a better president of France than of the United States.
After all, they have to stab their brethren in the back at their greatest crisis since Churban 'Europa'. "Jewish values," you know. "Social justice" and all that.

Kerry Postpones Campaign to Honor Reagan
10:38 PM EST - June 05, 2004
The Associated PressWASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry plans to take time off the campaign trail to observe Ronald Reagan's death, saying Americans "bow their heads in prayer and gratitude that President Reagan left such an indelible stamp on the nation he loved."
Kerry said the nation's 40th president, who died Saturday at the age of 93 after struggling with Alzheimer's disease, lived by a noble ideal of bipartisanship.
"Even when he was breaking Democrats hearts, he did so with a smile and in the spirit of honest and open debate," Kerry said in a statement. "The differences were real, but because of the way President Reagan led, he taught us that there is a big difference between strong beliefs and bitter partisanship."
Kerry planned to speak Sunday with a tribute to Reagan at Michigan's Bedford High School graduation being held across the state line in Toledo, Ohio. He canceled a trip to Denver Sunday night to return to Washington, where Reagan's body was to be flown.
Kerry spokesman David Wade said it had not been determined Saturday night when he would resume his schedule. Kerry had planned to give a speech in Denver Monday morning, then travel to Los Angeles for a star-studded fund-raiser at the Walt Disney Concert Hall...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - June 6, 2004 - Los AngelesThe death of President Reagan has of course complicated ALL of our plans.
Conservatives to protest "Stars for Kerry" concert in Los Angeles
Los Angeles - Members of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Free Republic Network (also known as the "Hollywood Resistance Force") plan to join other local supporters of President Bush on MONDAY, June 7 at 6 p.m., as they protest the appearance of Barbra Streisand, Willie Nelson, Billy Crystal and Neil Diamond at a fundraiser for John Kerry at the Walt Disney Concert Hall - which is located at 111 S. Grand Avenue, in Los Angeles.
Carrying large signs that say, "Ronald Reagan: the "GIPPER," John Kerry: the "FLIPPER!" and "OUR GOVERNOR can beat up YOUR (wimpy) CANDIDATE!" they intend to draw attention to Senator Kerry's tendency to "flip flop" his positions on important issues, and to provide a contrast with the more consistent policies of both Governor Schwarzenegger and President Reagan.
"We support President Bush," says L.A. FRN Chapter Vice President Ron Smith. "And, we believe that Governor Schwarzenegger shares President Reagan's gift for energizing Californians with a clear vision that will help President Bush 'terminate' John Kerry's political aspirations, just as he did last year with those of Gray Davis."

I decided NOT to refer to President Reagan, partly out of respect...
...and partly since I did not have enough of the vinyl letter "P" (without going back to the store)...to make a sign with both "GIPPER" and "FLIPPER." :o)

WASHINGTON -- As the presidential race gets tighter and nastier, the F-word has increasingly crept into attacks against presumptive Democratic nominee John F. Kerry.
It has made its way into comments by the House majority leader, onto Internet blogs, and onto the Republican National Committee's website. It has shown up on sweatshirts and T-shirts, and been thrown around in columns by nationally known conservative writers.
Kerry, his foes complain, might as well be French.
"The French believe John Kerry has `a certain elegance,' " sneers a contributor [aka Prime Choice] to the FreeRepublic.com website, over unflattering pictures of the Massachusetts senator playing ping-pong, catching a football, and throwing a baseball. "Of course, the French also think Jerry Lewis is a comic genius. Think about it," the satirical posting says...

Wish I could join you but I have to put the kiddies to bed!
...it seems VERY UNLIKELY that the DNC will pass on raking in all this "Hollywood Has-Been" cash just because the "presumptive candidate" cannot attend.Although I suppose that it actually **is** possible that someone in the Democrat party will have a moment of compassion (and/or political savvy)...and decide to RE-SCHEDULE this fundraiser for another time.In any event, the "Hollywood Resistance Force" will be ready for them WHENEVER they do this. :o)
There are some hotties in the picture in post 23.
...the Young Republican women......and ALL conservative women - EVERYWHERE!
Great revised sign!
