I stationed myself at the entrance to the Orange Park Mall here last night and again today.
Last night I was asked again by a passing motorist if I had seen the movie, and I came up with a cleaned up version of your line. Here is it is: "I don't have to climb in dumpster, to know that garbage stinks!" I encourage others to use it freely!
This afternoon the temp was about 95 degrees, but I positioned myself under the branches of a Crepe Myrtle flowering tree and the shade helped lots. I also received a nice and welcome surprise. A Ford Explorer pulled up behind me with two ladies in it. The driver got out and had something in her hand. As she approached me, she said "I think you could use a nice cold drink and I wanted to do something to express my gratitude to you for standing out here in this heat, a displaying such a GREAT MESSAGE! How about an ice cold Coca-Cola?" I was delighted! The cold drink was right on time, but what delighted me was that these ladies passed by appreciated what I was doing and thought about me enough to go to a drive-in and get a MEGASIZE Coke for me! I was really touched by their act of kindness. I got NO NEGATIVE FEEDBACK today, and lots of thumbs up and horn toots.
My wife came there after about an 90 minutes, and we went into the theater complex to watch the movie, "Notebook". It was a love story and folks leaving that particular theater had lots of tears in their eyes. As we exited there was a gentleman wearing a ball cap with a Vietnam campaign ribbon embroidered on it. As we walked I thanked him for his service to our country, and commented on the movie we just watched. He said he liked it as did I. I commented that it was shame that we enjoyed such a good movie while so many idiots paid good money to an America Hater to watch his propaganda. He said, "I am disabled because another a$$hole liked that said that kinda crap 33 years ago and encouraged the VC. I', talking about Kerry!" Wow, I was blown away. I threw my arm around his shoulder and told him we weren't gonna let "Hanoi John" get in the White House. He said he sure hoped not. He also recommended Michael Moore be tried for sedition for that movie.
As we parted company, his wife whispered something to him. He then asked if I was the one holding the signs outside earlier, which I confirmed. A tear streamed down his face as he extended his right hand and said "Thank you for being there with your sign".
All in all, FReepin' the Propagandist has been a VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE for me! I think lots of people who saw me got encouraged.
thyat's what it's all about, my brother...thx for bringing a tear to my eye.
Your welcome, and thanks for bump. See you at Amy's.
Jon and I did have a nice young Lady stop and offer us each a Bud Light. We also got a big laugh out of the guy that went by waving his *Michael Moore is a Big Fat Stupid White Man* book out the window as he hooted and cheered us on. Like you say it was a very positive experience. See you around FRiend.
Still waiting. :-)
That's a great pic. Hey Kuds, it's that you? You're sooo cute.
It's OK. Always good to see you, Kuds. And you look really good in that pic, by the way.
It is always worth denouncing evil and lies. Things do not take care of themselves. People can be convinced of the craziest things, if they are not presented with the other side. And no good action is wasted.
FReepers, don't listen to the complacent advice that says "Fahrenheit 911" is somehow irrelevant or will self-destruct. The left thrives on not being answered and challenged. If you're moved to act against MOO-ron, do it.
Tonight, I crafted and sent the following e-mail to Lion's Gate, to the attention of Tom Ortenberg, their head of distribution, who was quoted as proclaiming "This is a testament to Michael Moore. His voice resonates across the country in what I think we can all now fairly describe as America's movie":
At the risk of momentarily interfering with the backpatting going on at Lion's Gate over the "Fahrenheit 9/11" opening weekend numbers (against such stalwart competition as "White Chicks"), let me just tell you that, despite my fondness and high regard for "The Dead Zone" TV series, the Season 2 DVD set of which I immediately went out and bought when it became available, I will never again spend a single cent on any Lion's Gate product.
That you tout the latest piece of Michael Moore garbage as "America's movie" is as appalling and disgusting as it is laughable, yet ironically your claim is as honest as the film itself, which is to say not in the least. You must really regret not having been able to clean up by helping produce "Triumph of the Will" in the 30s and then open it nationwide across this country in, say, January of 1942. Oddly enough, that film was far more truthful in its presentation. I don't think Goebbels would have dared take the liberties with facts that Moore does on a daily basis.
Sadly, it is unfashionable to enforce our laws regarding treason these days. We have become a more tolerant nation in many ways, both good and bad. Unfortunately, our days as a nation (at least a free one) may soon be coming to an end given that so many, such as yourself and your company, have become tolerant of lies, deception and treasonous behavior, particularly during a time of war. Surely this film easily meets the standard of "aid and comfort to the enemy." At least during WWII, Goebbels and Tokyo Rose weren't operating from within our borders.
Michael Moore has compared the terrorists currently attacking our soldiers and beheading civilians to the minutemen who helped the U.S. gain its freedom during the Revolutionary War. Further, he has stated his desire that more of our soldiers be killed in order to teach us some great lesson (such as the one that Iraqis were so much happier under the thumb of Saddam Hussein and we spoiled that). He has also, on foreign soil, referred to his fellow countrymen as "possibly the dumbest humans on the planet."
How proud you must be to associate yourself with sentiments like that. "America's movie"? I think not. "America's enemies' movie" would be far closer to the truth.
I can hear your hollow defense of "free speech" and the latest in-vogue phrase of the left, "dissent is patriotic," a statement as nonsensical as the rest of what passes for logic among supporters of Moore. Dissent, in and of itself, is not patriotic. Defending the right of dissent is, but dissent itself can be composed of very unpatriotic content; and the right to dissent ends at the point of treason.
Put simply, there are no adequate words to describe my contempt for you. You and your company are the lowest of creatures. You have used your political bigotry to endanger your fellow countrymen, for you can rest assured that this film does indeed encourage the terrorists Moore so gleefully (and dishonestly) tries to link to the Bush administration. And more Americans will die as a result, whether in Iraq or on our own soil. The terrorists will not stop their killing under a John Kerry administration, however much he may try to appease or hide from them. They will continue to kill anyone, including fellow Muslims ultimately, who do not embrace their particular form of Islam.
We didn't come to Europe's aid to stop Hitler before he was able to exterminate 6,000,000 Jews (who, it's worth mentioning, are the primary target of this current insanity), and how much regret has there been over that. President Bush was not willing to wait until the numbers got that high, nor did he have to wait that long. On 9/11, we suffered another Pearl Harbor, only it was our civilians who were attacked, not our military. Yet you and your ilk attack Bush at every opportunity because, unwilling to see more attacks on our soil, he is taking premptive measures to prevent such from happening. You wasted no time staking out your positions regarding Bush's so-called lies or the lack of Saddam's WMD's; and now that more and more evidence is mounting that Bush has been telling the truth, you happily ignore it without consideration of the cost to this country and its people. You, by way of Michael Moore, continue to spread the lies and make money doing it.
I hope this nation survives long enough for you to realize your errors in judgment, but if we do, it will be in spite of your actions.
Umm, since MM's so beloved in France, shouldn't it have been "Celsius 488.37"?
YOu gotta see Stepford Wives..deceptively hilarious! same with Dodgeball- sick and demented! :)
Not only would I suggest that same choice, I would fight anyone who tried to take it away from me.
??? You sure ain't responding to me.
Well said. Well done. And most necessary.
