The other side of the coin for these Mexican trucks is what will happen when they are involved in collisions - it will be an insurance company's worst nightmare. When the truck is worth zip/nada/zero and the driver (who can't speak English) runs like hell from the accident scene, what then? Doncha just love NAFTA?

Regarding the link to the thread about the Cumberland train, and Terrilynne88's claim she was on board, you might want to check the comments after hers.

The comment she made about being on the train is the only thing she's ever posted on FR....

As I was making a note of your link, the 5 pm AP news came on the radio.

Israel has just fired missiles into a building in the Gaza Strip.

Said it was used to repair motorcycles and air conditioners.

That still feels strange, to e reading about motorcycle bombers and hearing it at the same time.

Thousands line up in the Moorpark College parking lot before getting on a bus to be taken to pay their respects to former President Ronald Reagan, who lies in repose at his presidential library, Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in Moorpark, Calif. (AP Photo/Mark J. Terrill)

Scenes like this probably give the Dems shivers.....

"While they say they let him go...."

Maybe they didn't let him go....maybe they are playing psy ops with the bad guys.....Just a thought. :)

Perhaps they caught this guy and made sure the media picked up the "detainment" and "release"...but instead of letting him go they are "interrogating" him....the bad guys will be trying to contact him or waiting for him to contact them to complete their "job", but they can't find him. They'll be wondering what this guy is tell us. It should drive them crazy. lol

Well, granny...

Further googling led to several accounts of attacks by Palestinians on Israelis (and I believe one was in the Gaza Strip) using suicide motorcycle attacks. I would guess there was rhyme to their reason for this attack.

"The usual delivery vehicle isn't a jihadi in a C182 either :-)"

I don't think so, either. But I was responding to somebody else's idea on the subject. Actually the nuke scenario is the one most abhorrent to contemplate so of course we're all obsessed with this one. But I think it's far more likely that a jihadist or such group (well funded like AQ) will get their hands on some chemical landmines or other form of munition. Maybe a binary artillery round. TONS of those sitting nearly unguarded in warehouses in the former USSR. A "cash starved" and "hardware rich" economic environment. A binary munition would present a problem in successful detonation and dispersal. They tried that in Iraq and it didn't work.

The chemical mines present the most difficult scenario, I believe. Made of nonferrous plastic, inert until detonated, nondescript......easy to setup and displace if needed. In fact most of these WARSAW pact weapons were designed with the intention of having less educated satellite forces use them, so they came with pictograms as instructions.

Want to strike a really soft target and strike true fear into the very heart of this country? It's not a new idea so I'm not giving anybody ideas, I'm sure. Strike in the CENTER of the country. Oklahoma City sound familiar? Set up a chemical minefield upwind of a county fair. Lot's of kiddie rides.....

Sick? Sure. But classic Sun Tzu. Know your enemy......Know yourself and you will be successful. We have to think like they do.

Oh, OK...

After moving less than half a block in 20 minutes (one block away from from Moscone), a bunch of bicyclists started riding between the cars, leader with a bull horn, shouting something about taking over the streets.

He had the horn pointed back wards so I didn't hear him coming. Durn! he got away!

However, I popped my door open in front of the third or so cyclist in the string. (I did look first to make sure he had room to stop).

He screams "You effin' clymer!!!" (OK, I cleaned it up a little, so sue me...)

I looked up smiled sweetly and said "That makes two of us..."

Totally messed them up. They had to stop and regroup. His buds split leaving him with two young "ladies" to protect him from the mean man in the car. Boo fricking hoo

I closed the door and he started to pass by and continued to berate me. When he was adjacent to the door I popped it open at him, not to hit him, but to persuade him to move along.

He darn near fell off his bike trying to dodge me.

"We're going to call 911!!!"

"Don't bother, I'll call for you" which I did. (The line was busy)

He and the two chicks decided that it was past their collective bedtimes or something and split.

Felt GOOD...

"F15 screamed over..."

That happened to me 2 days after 9-11. I was driving on I-20 outside of Tyler, Texas, and two of them flew right over me. Scared the %%% out of me. I had no idea what that noise was until it passed over. It seemed like they were 10 feet above me, but of course they were much higher up. I guess they were going to Barksdale AFB. I had never had that experience before.

I dont know but a few weeks ago. They had that big pool supply place fire (very bad).

At the same time SP2BF had a message from somebody that said he was in Atlanta and was going to the capital of sin or something to that effect. Anyone remember his name?

This is when the first fire started. And they don't have a clue who is doing this.

Good thoughts...especially since someone is probably waiting to receive the $20,000 that this guy was carrying; and the police are now keeping.
