KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia - Tens of American, European and other hostages were released Sunday and a gunman believed to be the lead Islamic militant holding them was arrested, a Saudi security official said, adding that two other gunmen were "in the process of being arrested."

Fox was just reporting that the new threat (re: Airlines) originated from the same website that the Nick Berg video came from. To you knowledge, is this report true?

Al-Qaida warns of new anti-West attacks

A statement purportedly from al-Qaida in Saudi Arabia has warned of new attacks on US and Western airlines, installations and areas frequented by Westerners.

"All compounds, bases and means of transport, especially Western and American airlines, will be a direct target for our coming operations in the near future," said the statement, posted on Monday on a pro-al-Qaida site on the Internet.

It asked Muslims to keep away from Americans and other Westerners to avoid falling victim to an attack by the armed network led by Saudi-born Usama bin Ladin.

Well, it's been awhile, but the last that I heard the 1/509th was stationed permanently in Italy; Vicenza I think. That may have changed. Anytime an airborne unit deploys the bad guys ought to start thinking "Death From Above." But a big send off might really just mean a training deployment. Now, if they disappeared at midnight with nothing but the fading sound of a C-141's engines to herald their departure, THAT'S the time the bad guys need to keep their eyes on the sky. My buddies in the 2nd Ranger Battalion did just that in October of 1983. The next thing I knew, they were jumping on Grenada and kicking communist A$$. I lost three buddies that night. But damn they did their job!

Kinda sorta. The site that the Nick Berg video was found on has not come back up; the owners of that site have registered another domain name. They weren't the first to report this threat but by early afternoon I was finding the threat on every jihadi board that I looked it.

So yes, it is on the new incarnation of Ansar. It's also on a whole bunch of others.

What gives it credibility is it is being spread by the Global Islamic Media crew.

Fr. Martin was from Ireland and I have never lookd at a
picture of him. Have no need to do so.

I was impressed with his simple answers, often begun with
" You Know that I am a Catholic and this is what I believe".

No, I am not a Catholic, but have long marveled at how many places God sends Soldiers to work at.

Well, yeah, there's a lot of military activity during wartime. But there's a lot of military activity during peacetime, too. We just notice it more these days, is all. Training never stops, ever. As far as naval activity, it may be in response to both anticipated threats this summer or current and specific intel. I guess it depends on the type of ships heading out to sea. And no, I wouldn't encourage freepers to post that info. Like the saying goes: "Loose Lips Sink Ships."

Father Maliciah Martin...Now there is a guy I would listen to. Luckily I have his last interview recorded. I did this before you could no longer listen to the reruns for free. He was the only realy credible person they have ever had on Art Bell or coast to coast when it comes to the future. I was very sad when he passed. I still think there might have been foul play involved.
