I just want to set the record straight. I DID NOT send the attack e-mails, or Freep-mails or what ever they were.

I agree they were despicable, disgusting and wrong.

The only contacts I had with her were on this thread.

Yes, that mockingbird story cracked me up, too! At first I thought it might be a joke...and just the inital 'tease' about it made me laugh... And then I was trying so hard to take it seriously when I realized Null was serious...but the details and the looking at him like "what was what for" got me laughing again! I'm sorry for your 'run in' (fly in?) but thank you for providing a few of us with a visual that brought a smile :-)

While I have the time, I wanted to mention that in conjunction with the news about Padilla being instructed to use natural gas to blow-up apartment buildings, a similar situation took place at the Olean, NY Armory in February of this year. The case remains an active federal investigation.

Although it was a poor and thankfully ineffective attempt to divert a gas line into the armory building (had it succeeded, it could have taken out the armory and police station), it fits the general pattern of what Padilla was instructed to do.

You can be certain that he was not the only one to receive those instructions...

I adore Steven Wright; saw him in the '80s in NYC at I think it was the Biltmore. I believe I first saw his HBO show and was impressed. One of my favorite SW lines as best as I can remember:

"I like to tease my plants. I water them with ice cubes."

And he had so many others that I like. Of course his matter-of-fact, deadpan delivery makes all the difference. And his hair! I loved his crazy hair.
