Filmmaker Moore Says He Has Berg Footage

Associated Press

NEW YORK - Filmmaker Michael Moore, whose incendiary new documentary lambastes President Bush's handling of the war, said Thursday that he has footage unused in the film of Nicholas Berg, the American civilian later beheaded in Iraq.

The footage, of an interview with Berg, "is approximately 20 minutes long. We are not releasing it to the media," Moore said in a statement. "It is not in the film. We are dealing privately with the family."

Neither Moore nor his representatives would describe the nature or contents of the interview with Berg, who held staunch pro-war views.

No one answered the phone Thursday at the home of Berg's parents in West Chester, Pa.

"Fahrenheit 9/11," which recently won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival, accuses the Bush camp of stealing the 2000 election, overlooking terrorism warnings before Sept. 11, 2001, and fanning fears of more attacks to secure American support for the Iraq war.

Moore's assault on U.S. policy got him into trouble with Disney, which refused to let subsidiary Miramax release "Fahrenheit 9/11." He is still trying to work out a deal for U.S. distribution.

"It is a federal crime for anyone, anywhere, to kill an American in a terrorist attack. The tapes are therefore evidence of a felony."

The fat maggot needs to turn over this tape (if there is one)to the government. Then it needs to be questioned about what its terrorist ties are. Maybe they can get it a double wide cell at Guantanamo.

Once again, weirdness walks the land. I don't know what to think, except I thnk the coincidence is too great. I hope the FBI is knocking on his door right now.

Is even Michael Moore low down dirty enough to lie about something like this? I mean, this is really nasty business. He's a liar, but this isn't pulling a fast one on Michael Eisner, this is life and death.

Do I have this right? Moore is claiming to have somehow gotten hold of video of the captured Berg, video that was not used in the video released to the Arab tv channel. Am I also right that the only way he could have gotten it was from the Arab television channel, directly from the terrorists, or as he would no doubt claim, anonymously in the mail?

If I'm making the right assumption, then the question is why was he the one to get the video? Seems apparent, the video "source" thought he would be the one most likely to use it to help their cause.

So I'm thinking what on a Berg video would hurt us the most: To hear Berg denounce the president, the war, and the country. Even if done under torture, which could easily be edited out.

This may be impossible, but I hope they can locate a pair of woman's underpants large enough to fit around Moore's fat head! ... it's time for Private Lindy England to get busy on his a$$!

I agree.

Though some problems might arise if they had to actually detain him for questioning.

I mean, where in the world are you going to find handcuffs that will fit around Moore's wrists?

I have been thinking that for a while. It has been suggested that Berg might even had ties to George Soros, due to the name of his alleged business.

The article doesn't make it clear. It could be before he was captured.

The way I read this article, Nick Berg was one of the people interviewed by Moore's people, long before he was murdered.

It still doesn't sound right. What is the likelihood that Moore's people just happened to come across Berg in Iraq? If he is trying to get a payoff from the family not to release Berg's pro-Bush statements...then it is blackmail, which last time I checked was still a crime. Wasn't there some question about the $70,000 that Berg claimed to have made in a relatively short period of time in Iraq? Could that have possibly been a payoff from Moore for filming? Either way, Moore is in trouble.

Am I way off base? Iv'e reread the damn thing so many times...now I think "he has footage unused in the film of Nicholas Berg" is Moore referring to his own film, not the video of captive Berg.

I'm so confused!

I can't muster the slightest sympathy for Berg's family...or at least not for his scumbag father. The fact that Moore saw fit to film Berg for 20 minutes indicates to me that Berg was probably as anti-American as his father is.

I imagine it was Berg who sought out the terrorists and not vice versa. Yes, it seems to have backfired on him.

Ahhh, you're right. Moore did interview Michael Berg for his movie, salon.com has an article about it now...

--

"Moore interviewed Berg for "Fahrenheit""
"The murdered American hostage had given an interview for the documentary, but it is not included in the final version."

Ask yourself this: Why would Nick Berg, a "strong supporter of the US presence in Iraq", consent to a 20-minute interview with Michael Moore? Conspiratorially, I think that the footage (if it exists) shows a very anti-war Nick Berg.

The chickenshit Moore doesn't have the balls to even address this, because the Nick Berg footage would prove his 'crock-u-mentary' propaganda film is nothin but that - PROPAGANDA!

Screw you Michael Moore, and all your America HATING Hollywood pals!

I'm still recovering from those photo-shopped pictures of Moore at Cannes.

Just the thought of watching his face for more than a milisecond is enough to send chills down my spine!

Thank goodness Fox executives had the good sense to can that show when they had the chance.
