Was there a caption on the original release of the photo?
Otherwise, the context is open to many interpretations.

So, if a reporter gets in trouble for making up stuff in a story, can a photographer get in trouble for posing a picture?

In Fallujah, (where I believe this was taken) the people have been burning tires and stuff to keep military vehicles out of their neighborhood.
These kids are ignoring the burning stuff (which is pretty ordinary in their neighborhood these days) and running around having fun.
That's it.

So, if a reporter gets in trouble for making up stuff in a story, can a photographer get in trouble for posing a picture?Gee didn't the Boston Globe recently run phony pictures of alleged torture on their front page? They said they were sorry, wow! They were only sorry they didn't have worse pictures that were real so they could really do a hit job on our national(excluding many Demoncrats) effort to pacify Iraq.

Add Karim to the AP's growing stable of propagandists.
They have Sheherezade Faramarzi flogging away at "the wedding party" story for all its worth, too.

So, if a reporter gets in trouble for making up stuff in a story, can a photographer get in trouble for posing a picture? Didn't the LA run a picture that was edited???

Iraqis need to take lessons for the Palis. Those Palis know how to stage videos; they've been doing it for years.

Is that Elian Gonzales back there?
Is it me, or does this look photoshpooed? Notice the fuzzy "ghost" look around every kid? just like they pasted kids running...and blurred the edges.

The photographer, Brian Walski, reached by telephone in southern Iraq, acknowledged that he had used his computer to combine elements of two photographs, taken moments apart, in order to improve the composition. Times policy forbids altering the content of news photographs. Yep .. that's the story I was thinking of
BTW ... you're good with the links .. Thanks :0)
