"Dubyuh's Got Faith!!"
(To be sung to Eric Clapton's "Running On Faith"

One...two...three...four...

Lately Right's been running on Faith...
Searchin' fer Justice and Truth.
But our World will be Right...
When Dubyuh sings our tune.

Lately, I've been wond'rin' why I FReep...
Shrinkin' government's that fer which I pray.
Protect the World from Left's slime...
Please Dubyuh, join the fray!!

Right's always been...
Willin' to help thru taxes that we pay.
Seems like by now...
Right'd find a Prez who cares...fer Liberty!!

Then we'd go running on faith
All of Right's dreams shall come true!!
All the world will be Right...
When Dubyuh loathes Big Guv'ment, too!!

(Sweet guitar pickin' by the BigMan)

Right's always been...
One to fight fer that fer which we pray!!
Seems like by now...
We'd find a Prez who cares...fer Liberty!!

Won't believe Pubbies on faith...
All of Right's dreams shall come true!!
Lead the world 'cuz we're Right...
George Dubyuh, you can join US, too!!
Yes, you can...
And Rush shall support you...
Then Sean shall support you...
And MUD shall support you...
All of Right's dreams shall come true...
The Right shall support you...
Truth shall see you thru...

"This is a sad hour in the life of America. ... Ronald Reagan won America's respect with his greatness, and won its love with his goodness. He had the confidence that comes with conviction, the strength that comes with character, the grace that comes with humility, and the humor that comes with wisdom. He leaves behind a nation he restored and a world he helped save. During the years of President Reagan, America laid to rest an era of division and self-doubt. And because of his leadership, the world laid to rest an era of fear and tyranny. Now, in laying our leader to rest, we say thank you. He always told us that for America, the best was yet to come. We comfort ourselves in the knowledge that this is true for him, too. His work is done. And now a shining city awaits him. May God bless Ronald Reagan." --President George W. Bush

I used the attribution as shorthand. I was thinking 'expeditious,' not 'scholarly.'

I'm not sure how you could have rephrased this if your were writing "scholarly" as opposed to "expeditiously". How would you have written that differently, given more time to think about it beforehand? The fact that you used metaphors earlier doesn't change the original quote.

But more importantly, what about the other questions I asked you in post 445, like "What, exactly, does Soros say that suggests we must be subject to the United Nations rather than an active part of it? Or is this just projection on your part?"

Nice Poser art, BTW.

Yer not gonna try and deny that Soros would love to reject US sovereignty in favor of Rule by the United Nations, are you?! Don't you agree that the UN is broke beyond repair and should be abandoned by the US?! We could start a new "LeagueOfFReeNations" and no longer be subject to the whims of an organization that is dominated by representatives from dictatorships.

GIT THE US OUTTA THE UN!!
GIT THE UN OUTTA THE US!!

Or is the UN part of the apparatus you deem necessary to achieve World Socialism?

"Rule by the United Nations"? No, more like "rule with the United Nations". That's the difference between working for other countries and working together with other countries. What makes you think Soros wants the U.S. to be like a slave-state to the UN (or whatever it is you're picturing)?

Don't you agree that the UN is broke beyond repair and should be abandoned by the US?!

Um, no. Why should I think the UN is "broken"? It only fails to work when we abandon it.

The UN's done a lot of great things since it's inception, you know. It's promoted free elections and democracy in lots of third-world countries that otherwise wouldn't have had the chance to have them. It helped end apartheid in South Africa. It's saved millions of children's lives through UNICEF. And that's just for starters.

So you would disband the UN because...?

We could start a new "LeagueOfFReeNations" and no longer be subject to the whims of an organization that is dominated by representatives from dictatorships.

Reminds me of a funny piece I read in The Onion last year, where Bush founded the U.S.U.N., a United Nations where only countries that agreed with us were allowed in, and we just decided to invade the rest.

In ten years time, it might not be so funny though. =(

Wow. Do you actually believe some of the stuff you say? I have to wonder sometimes.

Why don't you ask Kosovo if the UN was counter-productive to liberty. Or South Africa. Or El Salvador. Or a whole list of countries I could get for you.

Just make sure you don't ask Halliburton. The UN didn't do much to help them out.

"I'm planning on going up after work on Wednesday. I'll stay as long as it takes and just take Thursday off."

I'll be with you in spirit. If it wasn't for my surgery on Wednesday, I would go.

I watched the services in California on TV today as well as the accompanying coverage while I was undergoing my medical treatment and could not keep from bawling. The nurses thought I was in pain - in a way it is painful to lose a hero. I loved Reagan, he was my one true hero (not counting the Lord and my Dad)! He will never be replaced. We lost the greatest man in our lifetime and it is sad.

"There was also a lot of Klan activity in the town, and to make a long story short, when I compared the constant harassment my black and Hispanic friends received on a daily basis, with my family's indifference to same, then I think that was the genesis of my "commie liberal" thinking."

What's your view on Robert Byrd's association with the KKK?

The NATO countries couldda handled all them situations a lot better if we didn't haveta worry about appeasing the 60+ Tinhorn Tyrants, including Communist China's VETO!!

The UN's a FRiggin' joke and needs to be ignored and de-funded!!
