Jim Robinson is coming to Colorado! Lets do lunch!
Greetings,
As you may know Jim Robinson and family will be doing a tour of many states this month. They will be in Ft. Collins, Colorado on May 28th and 29th. Their plans are to arrive late in the evening on the 28th and they will be leaving on Saturday afternoon following a Freep of the lefties and a late lunch.
A few of us have been trying to decide where to go for lunch. We would like to have as many Freepers from Colorado and Southern Wyoming join us for lunch.
Here a a couple of choices
1. Since the Freep will be in Ft. Collins we could also do lunch in Ft Collins. We discussed Washington's in Old Town.
2. We Freep in Ft. Collins and do lunch somewhere along I-25 since this will be on their way to Burlington where they will spend Saturady night. We could possibly get the meeting room at Johnson's Corner, just north of the Berthoud exit. Maybe there is a nice restaurant near the Longmont exit at Del Camino.
We need to make a decision soon, so please let us know if you could do the FReep at Noon and lunch afterward or if you can just do one of the agenda items.
Also, feel free to post alternative suggestions for lunch.
Regards,
Tom Buchanan
We couldn't possibly consider going to a restaurant that didn't sport The Reverend Jesse Jackasson Seal Of Approval on it, could we?
Jim,
Too bad you won't be in Colorado Springs on June 5th. That is when the big parade will be downtown for the Ft Carson soldiers! There will fly-overs and troop reviews.
SirChas
So I guess the choice will be the Cracker Barrel or Johnson's Corner. I have to call Johnson's in the morning and see if I can reserve the meeting room. The meeting room holds 100.
This way Jim can get right on I-25 afterward and be on his way. It may bring out more Freepers too.
Hi Jim,
I was asked on the phone if you were a Vet and I thought to the best of my aging mind that you were in the Navy. Is that correct?
Yes sir. Navy vet, 65-69, on destroyers.
Ooops. Sounds great, but guess we'll be missing that one.
What? No tour bus? I had visions of this large bus covered with FReeRepublic graphics and flags. LOL!
I will dig out my crusty old U.N. flag to drag on the ground for the FReep. Should be a hoot.
All the Best!
What do we need to do to get you out of this?
LOL, the dress is a given.
She's jess try'n to use the visit as an excuse to leverage a dress out of my budget instead of hers.
I'm hold'n out fer one o' the new fangle rid'n lawnmowers myself. (that's so I can "let" her mow the lawn now and then ;o)
I tried to get the City of Fresno to fund such a tour, but just couldn't quite talk them into it. Would've been a great goodwill tour for the city!
Have a great time with Jim , Sheila, and Chris. I know they will enjoy freeping the lefties with you great Colorado freepers!
Don't forget flowers for Sheila! She just loves them!
Sheila's gonna get you for that.
I won't be at the Freep - we have son's baseball at 9am in Broomfield.
Thanks for arranging this!
Regards,
TS
Otay...
Have a safe trip!
Hey, Tom, could you keep me pinged to this? I don't care where you all decide, but I want to try to make it.
"We could probably stop in Phoenix for dinner."
Please do, many of us out here would love to join you.
Johnson's Corner looks good to me.
Count me in, but give me some more details...
FREEP 'em good in Fort Collins.
Whatever ya'll decide on is ok but try to keep it close for me. The price of gas is so high now, I try not to go anywhere unless I have to. How 'bout Bruce's in Severance? ;0
World famous Rocky Mtn Oysters. Yuck!
