the two agents didn't mix properly or else it would have been very bad.

Don't you love it?

I bet that the initial reports (from military sources) were intentionally vague or they probably said it was a small amount so that the lib media would down play it and then BAM!! 3-4 liters.

Trace amounts my a$$.

And this whole "the people who planted it probably didn't know what they had" nonsense? That's a good thing, Peter, you moron. We got lucky this time.

"Someone who knows about Sarin gas, tell me what this quantity means?"

It was enough that had it been detonated properly those two soldiers plus a lot more people in the vicinity of the detonation would be dead right now.

I pray that this is a wake up call to my friends still over there to start carrying their pro masks with them on their person again.

I lost any tiny sliver of confidence in the UN inspection teams when I saw the video of them right after they found an empty WMD artillery shell. They had on no chemical gear, gloves, goggles, nothing. They were peeping inside the hollow shell and running their hands along it. At the time they had no idea if there was any residual nerve agent in it.

Morons.

Probably both of them.

Its no use hoping they will ever accept anything as WMDs.

It scares me that people consider one single shell with the capability of killing thousands as "no big deal". And I'm speaking specifically of people like Blix.

If we found a nuke suitcase in Grand Central, would it be a big deal? If we had twenty cases of small pox show up in NYC, would it be a big deal? You bet your damn life we'd be on full alert.

Democrat themes over the past year:

1. We haven't found WMD in Iraq.
2. We haven't captured Saddam.
3. The economy is in a recession.
4. But it's a jobless recovery.
5. But we haven't found Osama.

Four down, one to go.

" ... that is enough sarin to kill several thousand people."

Yep that's what Fox's Bret Baer said he got from the pentagon.

Apparently the sarin didn't mix and disperse. The way Bret explained it is the binary compounds mix in flight but since the shell wasn't fired the components didn't mix properly. Lucky break for our guys. The stuff kills in 15 minutes or so.

Just as an aside, for those not familiar with the metric system, 3.8l=1 gallon, so 3-4 liters is a pretty large amount, anyone care to share what about a gallon of Sarin, would do, seems like the quantities the left wants are HUGE, but in my understanding it only take a small amount of this stuff to do its job, 'zat true?

We are detonating ALL the ordinance we find over there. All of the UXO (unexploded ordinance) is either blown in place if it's deemed too unstable to move or dumped into large pits and blown up with C-4. For the last year we could just about set our watches to the twice hourly detonations by the EOD folks.

I believe you are referring to Ricin.

Otherwise the two soldiers would be dead by now.

I could be wrong though.

if Saddam didn't mark his chemical weapons, how many times did the weapons inspectors walk right past his stockpiles?

That's what kills me about the inspectors. Did they really expect the WMD would be marked with signs and placards? "THIS WAY TO THE WMD STOCKPILES----> "

I kept trying to have blind faith that the inspectors knew what they were looking for, whether or not it was "properly labeled," but I also kept reading things like "Chemical weapons are painted green" or other such silly nonsense. If they were actually only looking for WMD that were clearly/properly marked, then no wonder they found less than was expected. If I am "the enemy" I'm sure not going to properly label my illegal stuff! But I guess we continue to fool ourselves and think the enemy plays by the same rules that we do.

And not a SINGLE article on CNN.com about the find of Sarin in Iraq... There's a mention of an "artillery shell containing traces of deadly nerve gas" in an article about Bremer's eulogy for Izzy Salim. That's it.

"what would have happened to this shell if it were on top of a big mutha car bomb?"

Probably the same kind of semi-mixture of the agent.

Lord help us if they find any mortar shells with this stuff in them. They love to lob 60 and 82mm mortars at us over there daily.
