EXECUTION: FOUR HELD
Four people have been arrested over the beheading of American Nicholas Berg, Iraq sources say.

The 26-year-old businessman's decapitated body was found 10 days ago in Baghdad.

His killing was shown around the world on the internet.

The poor quality website video showed Berg dressed in orange overalls kneeling on the floor with his hands tied back.

There were five masked men behind him. One read a statement urging Muslims to take revenge over the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers.

The masked men then pushed the American contractor to the floor and shouted "God is greatest" above his screams.

His head was cut off with a knife and then held aloft.

The website said the execution was performed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a top ally of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

It is not known if he was among the four people arrested.

Baghdad - Four people have been arrested over the beheading of US businessman Nicholas Berg, whose decapitated body was found in Baghdad, senior Iraqi sources said on Tuesday.

Nicholas Berg's headless body was found May 9 in western Baghdad. Three days later, a videotape posted on an al-Qaeda-related website showed him being decapitated by hooded men.

Berg's captors said the killing was to avenge abuses of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison by US forces.

There must be ways to extract EVERY bit of information from them needed to protect us and our (real) allies. Let them be thoroughly 'debriefed', then when they are of no further use, 'bring them to justice'. We are the good guys.

The source told AFP four people were held over Berg's grisly murder in a possible breakthrough in the US-led battle against extremists who have been trying to derail efforts to transfer sovereignty back to Iraqis on June 30.

"We have made good progress," the source added, referring to the investigation, but declined to give any further details on the identity of the four people held in detention.

It was understood that none of the four included al-Qaeda linked Jordanian extremist Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, who US authorities believe carried out the killing of the 26-year-old Berg along with bombings in Iraq.

But Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt, deputy director of operations, said: "We have no information from the coalition that any arrests were made today."

I just did a quick google search and nothing more than whats on your link. Hopefuly more tomorrow.

OK, if guilty, chop off their heads and swap them with pigs. Place their heads on the pigs and the pig's head on their bodies. Take them out to the dessert and bury them in different locations. Lets not forget the photos for the Arab press.

I entirely know where you're coming from. However, I've been racking my brain trying to come up with a way to deliver the most agony for the maximum amount of time. To this end, I believe that the torture must be centered around something mental. I would like this to go on for years - perhaps a decade or more. I don't want something relatively quick like a beheading or whatnot. I want these pigs devoired from the inside out.

Just my desire. The torture can't be bad enough. I'm sure there are experts in this field. No martyrdom either. A number of conditions must be met.

Ideally, everything he holds dear must be destroyed - preferably before his eyes. You get the idea.

"I hope we don't make them get naked or wear underwear on their head.
Put them up in a five-star hotel and serve them lobster so as to not insult their special muslim cultural sensitivities."

LOL I like the way you think!

Or.. We could shoot them in the head but, WE HAVE KEEP THEIR CLOTHES ON THEM.
If we shoot them naked it would be torture.

"Off with their heads! No I'm not joking"

And make sure it gets played on Al-Jazerz TV throughout the muslim world with a statement saying it is for the deaths of Nick Berg and Danny Pearl.

-"Why not send as many liberals and bleeding hearts to Iraq so they can try to find the extremists and talk to them? See if the extremists treat them nicely or not."-

That WOULD be torture!

"But it was understood that none of the four included Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, who US authorities believe carried out the killing of the 26-year-old who was in Iraq to drum up business for his small telecommunications company. "

SO this creep is still on the loose.

An excerpt

Top officials vowed to bring democracy to Iraq during the funeral service of Iraq's slain Governing Council president, while an Iraqi source said four people were arrested over the beheading of US civilian Nicholas Berg.
Berg's execution was shown earlier this month on an al-Qaeda linked website.

"IMHO if these people arrested are close to Zarqawi, they might provide VERY valuable intelligence that could lead to his capture. Letting the world know that these people are in custody could help Zarqawi get away."

Yes. But how do we get them to talk? I mean, if all we can do is 1) make idle threats that they know we could never carry out, or 2) ask nicely, we are not going to get much useful info from these savages.

The media and Democrats are doing a GREAT job of trying to undermine this war effort here at home.

All of this stuff is giving me one big

When this story came out the media backed away from it. Now today FoxNews is reporting that the Iraqi police had taken four men into custody a week ago in connection with the Nick Berg beheading. But instead of being al Queda they are part of Sadam Hussien's Fedaheen regime and they have now let two go and are still holding two.
