Doesn't matter if it's a leftover

EXACTLY. They are all leftovers. When you make that much, you don't need more.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that the Islamokazis have broken out the "nonexistant" WMDs.

So am I. Didn't they get the memo from the DNC?

The press will only admit to WMD's when they are actually used by terrorists; then they will blame Bush for the movement of the previously "non-existent" weapons from Saddam's arsenal into the hands of the terrorists.

I was thinking about this this morning. There are so many supposedly isolated incidents surrounding this. When something happens and thousands are killed I can hear the bloviators bloviating about "Why didn't CIA & DOD connect the dots. Off with Rumsfelds head!

"The naivete was nice, wasn't it? We can never go back to that time."

To tell you the truth, I barely remember 9/10/01 and before, and when I do, it is in the context of 9/11 and after.

Were it not for the preponderance of liberal teachers and professors in our schools and colleges, this would be a wonderful opportunity for history teachers.

I mean, one of the basic things that I do remember from those old days is the lesson of history...that if we don't learn from the lessons of history we are doomed to repeat them.

Now, all of a sudden, you're hearing references to the appeasement of Neville Chamberlain (refers to Kerry), versus the resoluteness of Winston Churchill (refers to Bush). You hear about how past Presidents dealt with attacks, and times of war, such as Lincoln, FDR and others.

Vietnam is, rightly or wrongly, reintroduced into the debate, injected by the Democrats' presumed nominee (what, you didn't know he was in Vietnam? SHOCKING!!!. You see the American response during and after national tragedies (Pearl Harbor in 1941, 9-11 almost 60 years later).

We also see the effect that the media has on shaping opinion into reality, and how what they do or do not report is based on different biases. I will guarantee you that I never learned that in Journalism class in 1985.

I never knew, studying about Vietnam in class, that we were winning over there, and that the media, along with a certain presumed Democratic nominee, helped to turn Vietnam into the horror that it ended up being.

I never knew that practically every Republican President in at least the last 50 years was considered to be stupid, slowcoach, aloof, and generally negative.

Of course, when I went to school, I wasn't attending at a time of war. I do remember "peace prize" winner Jimmah being POTUS during the 444 days that Americans were held hostage in Iran. I do remember not being able to get out of my driveway because of gas lines that circled my block, during the same Administration.

And that was from the "naive" time. You're right. We can never go back to that time, nor should we even WANT to.

David Kay said on MSNBC it is no big deal and just an old shell laying around - he's a jerk - said no sign that there is/are WMD in Iraq - just a bunch of old stuff - apologies if this already posted -just signed on.

Of course he is. We can't have anyone injecting sensible thought into one explosion of an old shell. I bet if they dug right where they found this shell there would be a huge underground garage at that spot with 29,983 other shells.

Why this just proves all the information correct espoused by the National Review and the Weekly Standard and David Kay, the President's handpicked man, wrong. Of course Kay has actually stepped foot in Iraq but what does he know?

If this is true, and knowing that this is a homemade bomb out of a real munitions, then find the ones who planted it and you might find more WMD.

Yeah but under the latest prisoner treatment guidlines, all we can do is ask them pretty please where the WMDs are cached. Mustn't stress the SOBs, don't 'cha know.

Doesn't Kerry get some type of National Security brief now that he is the candidate

IIRC - NOPE, not yet. Only when he actually becomes the nominee, and then that's limited info also. If he was to win the election he'd get full briefings until inauguration.

Smart move! I was in the Research Triangle area last night...returning from viewing the WWII Memorial, an awe-inspiring memorial to "the greatest generation." The dedication is scheduled for May 27. (I had a cousin killed at the Battle of the Bulge, an uncle in North Africa, and 3 cousins ...brothers...in the navy: destroyer, submarine, and aircorps..gunner.) I revere them all.

"Kaye has to say that its no big deal and just a leftover, cause he already told the world that stockpiles don't exist."

If it's a leftover it's "stockpiled", as Saddam claimed to the UN in his weapons report that he had had all of them destroyed.

They can spin it as another of Saddam's "accounting errors"....until one is shot at a group of civilians. Maybe in a Western country.

Admit it. Don't spin it.

Where do you see spin?

It can be made by any third rate wacko group with off the shelf chemicals.....

Do a little reading on this stuff, it can be made in a garage, and the ingredients can be found with a few clicks on a computer. Again, I am not impressed.

Now if they found a few small nuclear weapons with delivery systems, or a few dirty bombs that would contaminate an area for a hundred years, I'd be impressed.

The chief naysayer of the war in Iraq stops in to visit.

We have found sarin gas and mustard gas in Iraq in the last 14 days.

The thwarted WMD attack in Jordan was found to have VX nerve gas and 70 or so other chemicals, widely believed to come from Syria via Iraq.

Powell warned the UN pre-war that convoys of trucks were leaving Iraq for Syria with what was widely presumed to be WMD. The president did the right thing going to Iraq, especially given Saddam's decade old relationship with Osama bin Laden.

At the least Saddam knew 9/11 was coming, but you probably believe it was just backyard gossip that prompted OBL to let Saddam know about the coming attack.

Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)

In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”

The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.

But if an attack happens in this country, you'll be first at the plate complaining we didn't stop it.

I have administered Atropine hundreds of times myself. I didn't say that it was one time administration and it is cured.

My point is this is not a situation where the "cure" is worse than the exposure.

Atropine can be given in very high dosages for this type of poisoning.

The fatal level of overdose with atropine is not known. Death would occur if the supportive care the patient needed is not done. (respiratory depression, etc)

I just don't want people to feel hopeless about our troops over there.

If they get treatment with atropine and supportive care almost all of them will survive, most likely without lasting effects.

That's what the leftists do. They up the bar. Now it has to be nuclear to fit in the WMD category for you.
Sheesh - Kerry is that you?

"Bush promised we would use WMD if the terrorists did.
I bet he won't.

Any takers ??"

My bet is that when(if) GW wins reelection, all hell breaks loose (military might-wise) the very next day.

I'm not good at betting, but that's just me.

I'd almost equating it to having to wait as a college professor to institute a wonderful, decisive curriculum until after I receive tenure.

I never said the cure was worse than the exposure, just that you had to be prepared to deal with the side effects of the cure. Atropine and said nerve gas agents end up doing a medical equivalent of a duel with the nervous system remaining stable enough to function.

See post 419 for more info on atropine. I can post more if it's needed.

Atropine even at the very high dosages which would be needed in the case of sarin, will be very effective in most cases.

Of course, you must combine the drug therapy with supportive care.
