David Kay said on MSNBC it is no big deal and just an old shell laying around - he's a jerk - said no sign that there is/are WMD in Iraq - just a bunch of old stuff - apologies if this already posted -just signed on.

Of course he is. We can't have anyone injecting sensible thought into one explosion of an old shell. I bet if they dug right where they found this shell there would be a huge underground garage at that spot with 29,983 other shells.

Why this just proves all the information correct espoused by the National Review and the Weekly Standard and David Kay, the President's handpicked man, wrong. Of course Kay has actually stepped foot in Iraq but what does he know?

The chief naysayer of the war in Iraq stops in to visit.

We have found sarin gas and mustard gas in Iraq in the last 14 days.

The thwarted WMD attack in Jordan was found to have VX nerve gas and 70 or so other chemicals, widely believed to come from Syria via Iraq.

Powell warned the UN pre-war that convoys of trucks were leaving Iraq for Syria with what was widely presumed to be WMD. The president did the right thing going to Iraq, especially given Saddam's decade old relationship with Osama bin Laden.

At the least Saddam knew 9/11 was coming, but you probably believe it was just backyard gossip that prompted OBL to let Saddam know about the coming attack.

Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)

In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”

The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.

But if an attack happens in this country, you'll be first at the plate complaining we didn't stop it.

??!!??!!??

Are you somehow claiming that 29,983 artillery rounds were rigged as IED's [probably sometime around 1990] and buried at this spot near the airport and this ONE round just appeared out of the sand [and happened to contain some amount of Sarin] ready to blow up the next time some unsuspecting soldier passed by??

I've heard some tall tales in my time, but really. I could almost believe in a fluke [the planter knew what what he did], but even that is a stretch.

I wonder if all of the people getting excited about this have noticed that the sarin gas finding was the result of a field test? Based on past experience they should wait for the full lab tests before breaking out the champagne.
