Where is the outrage?

- Press release

5/12/2004

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herman Cain issued the following statement on the war on terror:

“My prayers go out to the family of Nick Berg, who was brutally murdered at the hands of Iraqi militants. The lack of response from around the world concerns me.

“Where is the international outrage over this young man’s death? The lack of indignation over the death of one of our Americans is another reason why we cannot trust the international community to protect freedom around the world.

“This is why we are fighting in Iraq. We are fighting to stop the brutal murder of innocent life. We are fighting for the freedom of every person to live without fear. Make no mistake. Freedom and democracy will prevail.

“On Sept. 11, 2001, the terrorists came to the United States with the sole purpose of killing as many people as possible. These are the people that will strap a bomb to a child and let him or her die to kill us. This is not a rational enemy that we are fighting. We must not forget that the terrorists are our enemy and that we must stay united here at home.

“If they think this will destroy our resolve, they obviously did not learn from 9-11. It was because of our freedom that we were ruthlessly attacked on that day, and it is because of our freedom that we persevere. We must always remember that freedom has never been free and we must continue to fight for it around the world.

“This is further evidence that we must move forward in the war on terror. We need to allow our administration and our Defense Department to do their jobs. We cannot allow anymore witch hunts to distract the United States from the fight. When we keep our leaders from doing their jobs, we are helping the cause of the terrorists.

“In this time of war, we cannot thank our brave soldiers enough for the sacrifice they are making. Let’s send our soldiers and the terrorists a message: we will stay the course and we will win the fight for freedom.”

This is a technicality. Being from Massachusetts, makes you a Democrat by default.

Mac Collins was supporting the Fair Tax while Herman Cain was still in Nebraska deciding to move back to Georgia to run for the Senate. Mac Collins is the solid conservative in the Georgia Senate race. He has the record to prove it. He will be the best to represent Georgia in the Senate. Mac and Chambliss will make a good team.

Wonder who the AJC will support?

The Atlanta Journal Constipation? The most liberal candidate they can find, probably Majette.

I hope they give me a good choice this year, I hate wishy-washy candidates and this one sounds interesting. I'll keep him in mind:) SR Acworth Georgia

"Mac Collins is the solid conservative in the Georgia Senate race."

Cain offers Georgia an incredible opportunity by his talent and his values; and his committment. Cain offers, as well, and just as importantly, Republicans a special opportunity to put their committment to African-Americans where it belongs; in talented candidates who can shine a light of truth on Republican values; and shine that light-of-truth on Democrats as well.

Herman Cain is a winner in every way; and yes, there are other good, deserving candidates; but not 'as deserving' as Herman Cain. . .because others 'deserve' and need this man as well.

He is an incredible role model, by his character; and his accomplishments. As Conservative Republican; he is fine representative of our Party. I think it would be a huge mistake for Repubs to overlook what Herman Cain can offer, on so many levels.

The time has come; and so has the man; I hope that Georgia voters recognize the many gifts that Herman Cain offers.

Too often, we do not get a 'second chance'.

Do you not know that Herman Cain has been working on the Fair Tax for over ten years?! This is the man for the job. Not someone who puts his name on a piece of legislation during an election year. Cain will lead the fight for the Fair Tax! Go Cain!!

Smith,
Your statement about the Fair Tax is misleading. Herman Cain was one of the first unelected citizens of this country to actively support and promote the Fair Tax at the national level.

On the other hand, I can't deny Collins' record. He has consistently voted conservatively. The problem is that while he votes right it appears that he doesn't have the leadership needed to get ENOUGH votes to pass the legislation. He voted right on NAFTA. We got it anyway. He voted right on GATT. We got it anyway. He has consistently voted right on abortion. Nothing has changed.

His record is exactly why we need some fresh blood in the Senate. A man who is a problem solver. A man who can build the coalition needed to make changes.

WE NEED HERMAN CAIN!!!!!
GO CAIN GO!!!!

I don't care for Isakson, acts and talks like a lawer. He got pissed at a local conservative radio jockey a few years ago, he got caught in a lie. Don't remember about what, but do remember that I vowed to never vote for him.

Interestingly, the doomers that I have spoken to from the "conservative" side feel that there ARE enough white racists left in Georgia to affect Cains win when combined with enough black racists that will vote for mckinney. They feel that Collins has the best chance. I say, Go, Herman, go and make those "conservatives" eat their words.
