As an American [applied for citizenship here from Iran since 1999], and a Muslim i would like to strongly condemn the brutal beheading of a fellow American in the hands of Barbarians.
I also, condemn Islamic terrorism across the world and join millions of others in Iran and i'm sure other places across the middle east in condemning these horrible acts.
I moved here in 2000, i was a part of the student uprisings in 1999 in Iran. The very thing that the US is fighting right now in the middle east, are what students in Iran are fighting.
There is no difference between their fight and ours, nor the fight across the middle east between the modernized - moderate form of islam and the radical form.
Unfortunately, moderates have been unwilling to take arms or act aggressively against radical islam and when we have we've been condemned for human rights abuses.
That's all.. after reading some of the posts on here i just wanted to say i'm Muslim and i condemn these acts.

With all the "there are no moderate Muslims" threads running, your comment took guts. Thanks.

I feel for you because you are put in the postion of having to defend your beliefs all the time because of insane people trying to relive a period centuries ago.
Do you think the people of Iran will overthrow its government anytime soon?

Thanks for your post. Good to hear some outrage from the Muslim community. Thanks for your courage to speak out.

Cyrus seems like a good guy to me, too, and I appreciated his input, but I'm afraid its not representative, and it is, indeed, too late to reconcile my feelings. It is not a religion of peace.

The Koran commands that "bad" peaceful, aka "hypocrit" muslims be killed by devout, "good" muslims even before the Jews.
A long over due reformation of islam shall be costly for bad muslims and infedels alike, a war of annihilation we shall either win or lose.
Pearl and Berg were murdered in an islamic ritual favored by Mo'ham'.
Koranazis have again reignited their invasive Terror War of world conquest after 500 years of defeated shame.
Americans must read their Koran and Haddith to undestand our mortal enemies' bloodlustful hate of us.

Thanks. You aren't responsible for what other Muslims do but it would help if more Muslims spoke out against what these slugs are doing, not only to Americans but their fellow Muslims in the Middle East.

When I think terrible thoughts about Moslems generally, I have to stop and remember that Iranians are mostly Moslem too and most Iranians simply do not fall into that generality. Most Turkish people do not, either.

That's all.. after reading some of the posts on here i just wanted to say i'm Muslim and i condemn these acts.I appreciate and applaud your statement. I hope it is true that there are millions more like you. Certainly I understand that millions of Iranians oppose the fundamentalist regime in Iran, and I admire their courage.
But based on what I have seen and heard generally from the Muslim world since 9-11, I'm thinking that if you really are a devout Muslim, you must be very lonely.

Secularism is possible and desired without the Shah specially. I just meant that was one aspect of pre '79 you don't want back. I remember my uncle telling me that after the revolution everybody was happy the Shah was gone, until they realized what he had been replaced with. I just hope you do get a free, democratic government after your throw out the theocrats. And I believe you will.

I think the biggest blunder among so many by the collaborationist dupe, the ex-president Carter was to think that the Shah was wrong to keep the evil so-called mullahs down.
I said something about mullahs to an Iranian lady I work with and she said "Do you know what Mullah means? It means 'Prophet'. They are not prophets." I said, then how about Imam -- "same thing, it means", she said. I asked "What do YOU call them then?" She said "I call them bunch of big jerks, that what I call them."

If you speak Farsi, or any other Middle Eastern dialect, it would serve you well as a citizen, a Muslim and an Iranian ex-patriot to make it known to the FBI. There is a shortage of translators.
I wish you well. However you have a hard row to hoe to regain the trust and understanding of many Americans. Muslims have sucker-punched the US and we just don't forgive something like that. Israel and Palestine are no excuse. Quite frankly, many, not all, but many non Semitic Americans consider Jews and Arabs to merely be cousins that can't get along with each other because one calls God one name, the other another. You're both from the blood of Abraham.
(However, I admit that some Christians delight in cutting each others throats, figuratively, that is.)

The Iranians arre NOT arabs. In the ME they are more like Americans in their attitudes than are any of the arab groups. Modernization is simply not a fearsome thing to them.

Thank you. Your words have somewhat calmed my raging emotions right now. I'm angry about the CBS' insensitivity, the general media's constant and persistent need to dwell on the Abu Ghraib while it's being investigated and has been for a long while while overlooking the atrocity done to Berg, our demoncRAT congressional leadership who were notified about the situation of Abu Ghraib and now pretend they didn't, the murderous acts by Berg's and Pearl's kidnappers who try to fake their reasons, Satyr who needs to be eliminated posthaste, 911, etc.

Thank you sir. Some people are having a hard time not understanding that Muslims aren't of one mind...which is exactly what the terrorists wish to happen.
