As an American [applied for citizenship here from Iran since 1999], and a Muslim i would like to strongly condemn the brutal beheading of a fellow American in the hands of Barbarians.
I also, condemn Islamic terrorism across the world and join millions of others in Iran and i'm sure other places across the middle east in condemning these horrible acts.
I moved here in 2000, i was a part of the student uprisings in 1999 in Iran. The very thing that the US is fighting right now in the middle east, are what students in Iran are fighting.
There is no difference between their fight and ours, nor the fight across the middle east between the modernized - moderate form of islam and the radical form.
Unfortunately, moderates have been unwilling to take arms or act aggressively against radical islam and when we have we've been condemned for human rights abuses.
That's all.. after reading some of the posts on here i just wanted to say i'm Muslim and i condemn these acts.

Excellent first steps. Many of us follow events in Iran and know there are many who condemn the Islamofascist regime.
The next question is how can you assist this effort, whether in Iran or the arab world? Do you have language skills that the military could use? If only as a teacher of Farsi/Arabic? Can you work in your community?
At any rate, welcome and good luck.

I'm not sure about the Arab neighborhoods.
I'm Iranian we're not Arabs - we're mostly Persians, but i think that arabs newer generations will eventually americanize. I think alot of Iranians have.

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated, as is your struggle in Iran. The Persians and the Mesopotamians deserve better government and may the God of Abraham grant that we seriously take to heart the great danger we are in by our unhappy divisions.
The torture murder of Mr. Berg has reminded us of the nature of these enemies of Freedom and the Truth, and they are none of Abraham's sons.
God Bless all the People of the Book, who worship He who created Heaven and Earth.

Thank you.
How do moderate Muslims such as yourself interpret away the Koran verses which urge that Infidels be killed?

Thank you Cyrus. You have a good nickname. As you probably know, the original Cyrus befriended the Jews, allowed them to return from Babylon to rebuild their temple in Jerusalem. He even helped finance it. G*d blesses those who bless the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, and curses those who curse them. When muslims realize this simple truth and start acting on it, they will begin seeing the REAL work of G*d in their midst.

Islam is being hijacked. Islam, however, needs to fix the problem as much, if not more, than the US Military.

Bump to see where this goes later, especially since I have family by marriage that escaped when the Khomeini first came to power.

Thanks for your comments. Your words make a lot of sense, and I think they are helpful.

Thanks Cyrus. I have been reading about the student uprisings in Iran. God Bless them. It is the same enemy. This is a war between civilized people and barbarians.
I do wish more people would speak up. ("Maybe they are afraid?) Thank you for leading the way. Hopefully others will follow.

You are probably a nice guy but the world has a big problem with Islam. The central figure was a murderer, assassin, pedophile etc. What good can come from a religion based on the life of such person? Many Muslims have left Islam and converted or become atheists. Because they cannot handle the simple fact that Islam is based on the life of Muhammad. And that the Koran asks Muslims to copy the life of Muhammad.
http://www.prophetofdoom.net/
Islam rises and falls on Muhammad. He is the doctrines sole prophet, its lone founder, its gods singular conduit. Yet the picture the Islamic scriptures paint is not flattering. I analyzed the five most holy Islamic books and spent two years studying Muhammad and his message. What I found was bone chilling. The depiction of the prophet by the most revered Muslim sources is horrendous. Nearly every page reveals behavior that is immoral, criminal, and violent. The five oldest and most trusted Islamic sources dont portray Muhammad as a great and godly man. They reveal that he was a thief, liar, assassin, mass murderer, terrorist, warmonger, and an unrestrained sexual pervert engaged in pedophilia, incest, and rape. He authorized deception, assassinations, torture, slavery, and genocide. He was a pirate, not a prophet. According to the Hadith and the Quran, Muhammad and his henchmen plundered their way to power and prosperity. And by putting the Quran in chronological order and correlating it with the context of Muhammads life as it was reported in the Sira, Sunnah and Hadith, we also find that Allah mirrored his prophets character. Muhammads god condoned immoral and criminal behavior. Allah boasts about being a terrorist. He claims to have deceived men, to have stolen their property, to have enslaved women and children, to having committed acts of murder, genocide, and sadistic tortures

I think the term "jihadist" covers it.
