As a Muslim, i strongly condemn the beheading of Nick Berg
Cyrus ^ | 5/12/04 | Cyrus

Posted on 05/12/2004 12:53:03 PM PDT by Cyrus the Great

As an American [applied for citizenship here from Iran since 1999], and a Muslim i would like to strongly condemn the brutal beheading of a fellow American in the hands of Barbarians.

I also, condemn Islamic terrorism across the world and join millions of others in Iran and i'm sure other places across the middle east in condemning these horrible acts.

I moved here in 2000, i was a part of the student uprisings in 1999 in Iran. The very thing that the US is fighting right now in the middle east, are what students in Iran are fighting.

There is no difference between their fight and ours, nor the fight across the middle east between the modernized - moderate form of islam and the radical form.

Unfortunately, moderates have been unwilling to take arms or act aggressively against radical islam and when we have we've been condemned for human rights abuses.

That's all.. after reading some of the posts on here i just wanted to say i'm Muslim and i condemn these acts.

That stuff is awfully thick of late, and I am frankly considering leaving because of it.

Hey tia, it's real one-gener stuff isn't it?

I mean I know people are mad, and that's really understandable, but some of the stuff is so left of the bellcurve, it can't be measured.

I don't know if it was yesterday or the day before, but some pod actually posited going all primitive in Iraq, not worrying about our Christian-Judeo ethic and/or morals for the time being, and then going back to our moral ways once the WOT ends, as if morals were a J.J. Newberry's five and dime item. Again, that is a stupidity that can't be quantified.

Hey, AlbionGirl,

Long time, no type! ;-)

I agree with you completely.

I'm angry about SO many things this week... but I still can't stand with the "Nuke Mecca" crowd.

There are some people here who sound JUST like the Taliban, and who wish to use thier religion to justify attrocity.

I guess it's "A Small World After All"

Nice to see you anyway. Especially as a Voice of Reason.

Nice to hear from your voice of reason too, and a belated Happy Mother's day to you!

Now I'm not a mother, but I've been called one (bada bing, bada boom), does that count?

I certainly don't want to see atrocities committed against innocent American Muslims like Cyrus, or several physicians I know who are lovely people dedicated to service.

Thing is, if Cyrus speaks out in the moslem community, instead of FR, the jihadis are most likely the to commit the atrocities, not the rest of America. There was no giant backlash against the Arab community after 9/11, and there will be none after the Nick Berg assassination. If the liberals hold sway, and keep America from winning as we must, there will come a time when the jihadis commit an atrocity that will push the American people over the edge.

I said:
in both Testaments is very clear that the path to Heaven is through your actions, not forced conversion."

You said:
I thought the ONLY path to heaven was through Christ, and all those that do not believe in Christ as thier one and only savior are hell-bound

I talked about BOTH testaments. Yes, in the NT, Christ said that no one goes to God except through Christ. BUT that was only a precursor. You still have to live a good life. Christ asked that the word be spread as good news, not shoved down people's throats. He demanded no conversion -- in fact free will and free choice is a corerstone of His teachings. You must CHOOSE this path freely.

Very different than Mohammed and his followers, since the author of this post has yet to answer my and other questions about how he can reconcile Islam, in ANY fashion, through the words of its founding pedophilac, to anything resembling "Moderation."

Now we need a new term for "native American"

I've always preferred "Americas first immigrants".

After all, they arrived via the Siberia - Alaska land bridge.

If he tries to do that he faces the muslim death penalty. No one can leave --- no one can make a choice like that.

It's like the Mafia. You can't resign or leave unless it's feet first.

The Iranian people have suffered much through the years of the mullahs and throughout history especially during the Arab muslim invasions. I personally thank you for your comments concerning the latest outrage and would love to see another Iranian muslim - you - be welcomed into the heart of Jesus Christ.

Kindly review the Thirty Years' War....

Yep, let's all look to a 1600s Central European conflict to predict what will happen in America in the 21st Century.

As I said, when Christians start flying planes into buildings to protest "Sarah Has Two Mommies" or Queer Guy give me a call.

Well then, the UN needs to provide protective custody just like the DoJ does for ex mobsters.

First, what happened to Berg, is in complete concert with the teachings of the Quran,{Sura 9:5} " kill the infidel where you find him, smite him by his neck, and smite his fingertips". Second, one of the more absurd contentions of Islam, is that Allah is the same as the God of Abraham, any elementary reading of the Quran makes this contention completely ridiculous, The Quran states "we {Allah} gave the law {10 commandments} to Moses", yet the Quran openly preaches against Gods holy Commandments, in dozens of verses. So we have Allah preaching against his own Commandments....absurd!

"If you don't mind, I would like to ask you a question. After seeing all of the vitriole, stupidity, lack of reason, and barbarism of the "nuke everybody but me" segment of Free Republic, why do you remain a Freeper? I honestly don't mean to offend you, I am just curious."

Funny, but I don't recall freepers being responsible for the death of anyone, unlike the millions killed in the name of Islam. Freepers love America, unlike you and your leftist friends at DummyRats Underground. Lots of vitriole, stupidity, and lack of reason on that site, all directed at America. The folks on that site are so perverted as to mistake despising everything about for patriotism. Freepers defend America, you leftists reflexively defend our enemies. The same enemies who would not hesitate to remove your head with a dull knife if they had the chance. Such behavior is a strong indicator of mental illness.

The wacko Koran isn't even in chronological order. The verses are simply laid down longest to shortest.

---->>>>>The arrangement of the suras is mechanical: the first, al-Fateha or “the Opening,” is a short prayer exalting God that has become an essential part of all Islamic liturgy and prayer. The rest are graded generally by length, from longest to shortest. It is thus impossible to tell from the book the chronological order of revelations; generally, however, the shorter suras, more electric and fervent than the rest, are the earlier, while many of the longer ones (and all of those revealed at Medina) are later. The Qur'an refers to religious and historical events but seldom provides comprehensive accounts. Its focus is their significance, rather than their narration. God in the Qur'an speaks in the first person. Tafsir, Qur'anic exegesis, initially emerged as a branch of the science of Hadith, in the attempt to gather Muhammad's elucidations of obscure Qur'anic passages, then developed into a separate discipline with the introduction of etymological and literary analysis tools. Being the verbatim Word of God, the text of the Qur'an is valid for religious purposes only in its original Arabic, cannot be modified, and is not translatable, although the necessity for non-Arabic interpretations is recognized. This has made the Qur'an the most read book in its original language and preserved a classical form of Arabic as an Islamic lingua franca and medium of learning.

I appreciate the condemnation but for me its too little to late.

I am convinced that Islam is a disease.

This will make the clone wars look like a picnic I am afraid.

I hope you would also condemn your prophet Mohammed for his mass beheading of prisoners who surrendered as well. Islam's prophet was a barbarian and too many Muslims believe they they should emulate him.

Tell me Cyrus, how can there be a meeting of the minds with people hell-bent on doing evil to please their god?

cheers,
fatidic

How do moderate Muslims such as yourself interpret away the Koran verses which urge that Infidels be killed?
