As a Muslim, i strongly condemn the beheading of Nick Berg

As an American [applied for citizenship here from Iran since 1999], and a Muslim i would like to strongly condemn the brutal beheading of a fellow American in the hands of Barbarians.

I also, condemn Islamic terrorism across the world and join millions of others in Iran and i'm sure other places across the middle east in condemning these horrible acts.

I moved here in 2000, i was a part of the student uprisings in 1999 in Iran. The very thing that the US is fighting right now in the middle east, are what students in Iran are fighting.

There is no difference between their fight and ours, nor the fight across the middle east between the modernized - moderate form of islam and the radical form.

Unfortunately, moderates have been unwilling to take arms or act aggressively against radical islam and when we have we've been condemned for human rights abuses.

That's all.. after reading some of the posts on here i just wanted to say i'm Muslim and i condemn these acts.

I thought you might find this thread interesting reading.

I'm kind of worried about Churchillbuff. He was posting his usual defeatist BS actively today then suddenly went silent...about the time the Marines started their offensive.

Yep. That and the Inqusition and the English Civil War and a bunch of other stuff.

Everybody here who is hurling stones needs to remember that NO religion is clean. That INCLUDES Christianity.

If I had to choose a main-stream religion right now, I'd be a Jew.

Over the years the low profile of Muslims has been the most common characteristic I have noticed. It would be surprising if they all suddenly got talkative.

Sorry, your words are useless.

Great.

The guy DOES what we have all been wanting: Shows some guts declares that he is a Muslim and declares that what happened was wrong.

And what do you do?

You , ( and a lot of others here) pee on it.

NICE job.

Personally, while I've been religiously quite tolerant until this beheading, - and after Irshad Manji's The Trouble With Islam - I can't see why ANYONE would willingly follow this religion, at all.

You'll edify me, naturally, no?

> Zoroastrianism is the world's first montheistic religion.

This is false, but if you're not a terrorist we can discuss it.

It's a death cult, baby! Far better that Cyrus go back to Zoroastrianism. Which is the Persian way and was a great faith until the Islamokazis invaded/decimated Persia.

"Anything less that they do is meaningless. They're still in the same cult."

Oh, come on. Remember The Last Battle of Narnia? I can't find the book...I think my oldest daughter took it so I can't get the quote but...

After Asgar (the analogy for God) destroyed the world, he took the good people of Narnia to heaven. One of the enemy soldiers (a Tasher? Thrasher? I forget what they were called, but they called themselves by the name of their god and they were evil people.) was discovered in heaven, wandering around and looking at everything.

Asgar asked the man if he had done good deeds and the man said something like "Yes, I always tried to look after my family, even when they were old and ill and couldn't take care of themselves." He gave other examples.

Asgar said "that's why your here. Every time you do a good work, you do it for me"

The man said "But I don't worship you"

Asgar said something like "Yes, you do but you don't know it. Every good deed you do, you do for me. Ever evil act you commit you commit for.." Tashar or Trasher, whatever it was.

The gist is obvious.

I hope this analogy doesn't offend anyone. It's hard to make people understand that individuals are all different, unless they're Wahhabists. Then it's open for debate.

Now this sad thread is showing how weak and unprepared to deal with the enemy we are.

I'd like to understand your comment a little better. I don't get the impression that anyone is "weak" or "unprepared to deal with the enemy." I think the USA is doing a good, strong job of dealing with the evil we face. Did you have any specific comment in mind?
