Well here's where it gets interesting. You know the media execs are scrambling to decide whether to elevate this story to pedastal status or promptly flush it down the toilet. It could have one of two effects, it could make Americans' support for the war, for Bush, and for Rumsfeld surge ahead; or it could have the opposite effect. The timing of this is critical. My feeling if they're smart is to make this page 3 of their website news.

I have seen the video. These are animals who are doing this, not humans. It is literally like a nightmare. Bush should rescind his "apology" and order the instant beheading of ALL prisoners. 10,000 dead for every one of our people killed.

He was picked up by Iraqi police and American military, in a sweep, questioned, and turned loose. He was warned it was dangerous and advised to go home. I think one report said he was going to do that, but before he could, he was captured by these people.

That's in stark difference to the description on ABC Radio News that the beheading was "quick".

I've noticed an interesting trend over the last 6 months. Whenever there is a "major" story (Prison Abuse, the murrder today AWOL Gate, et. al) CBS radio news and ABC radio news have Rather and Jennings anchoring the newscast. They do the top story, go to commercial then hand it off to the "normal" newsreader. Happened again today with Jennings doing the story on the neheading then after the first commercial giving the rest of the newscast to the normal anchor.

True. I remember downloading a similiar clip many many years ago of a Russian soldier caught by Afghanis in the 80s and he was beheaded with a small knife. Never forgot that image. Wasn't just the video, but the sound of the blood running out that freaked me out. Wish I hadnt looked.
