I think it was someone in the Pentagon.

I heard on the radio tonight this thought:

What if it was the Army that staged this to shake up the thousands of prisoners in both Iraq and Afghanistan ?

Unlikely but crazier things have happened.

I don't believe that I am hyperventilating over this situation. However, I have never known anyone in a fraternity. If this is indicative of a fraternity prank, I wouldn't want my son to get within a mile of one of a frat house.

This stuff looks like some sort of homo-erotic S&M bull hockey that perverts in the warehouse districts would get turned on by. I mean these poses do not proceed from the mind of an individual with a normal sexual orientation.

So, while it's not torture, it is perverted and sick. But I could discribe torture to my children. I don't think I am going to try to explain this kind of stuff to them.

One thing that bothers me about the one picture of Iraqi prisoners is the fact they don't look Middle Eastern and they are in great shape.

Don't go there. Seriously. This thing has been investigated by our military since January. The Major General in charge on the investigation interviewed the perps, the victims, and the witnesses. If you believe this whole thing is a fake, then you may as well give up all connection to the sane world.

As for it being a "frat prank" -- ma'am, I've never actually known very many frat boys, but my understanding is that frat boys engage in hazing voluntarily, and that sometimes things go very wrong.

The prison guards used guns to coerce their victims. That's nothing to joke about.

I don't recall any apology from the so called "arab world" for our losses on 9-11. We should make no apologies while prosecuting a war on terror. Seek search and annhilate all terrorists making no apologies along the route.

Saying he's sorry it happened is different from apologizing.

I'm sorry it happened.

Not for the prisoners so much, but sorry that some of our people apparently did some unattractive things.

Sorry that the press is making D-Day out of it.

Sorry that Kerry is such an ass.

Sorry that we had Clinton for 8 years.

Better stop.

I think you need to log off now, you're starting to talk nonsense. Tomorrow I hope you feel better.

I must disagree in this respect: the President is the highest elected representative of our country and the CinC of its military.

Nations, through their leader and agents, make moral decisions. Some are appropriate. Some are not. In this case, the actions of some of those individuals whom the POTUS commands were not appropriate. They were perverted. It does not matter what other nations do. In addition, no one could make the argument that these actions could do anything to facilitate the cessation of hostilities or reduce out casualties. In point of fact, they could only have the opposite effect.

A POTUS need not apologize for the death of a soldier, marine, sailor or airman who dies in the service of his country. The man did his duty as directed by those in command, starting with the POTUS.

First of all we do not know what is fact and what is fiction about the photos. Some are seem to be photoshopped or staged.

You want to know something -- there are more problems in the dorms then there are at Frat houses. Ask the pledges to the sororities and fraternities that cannot wait to exit the dorms. And we have a fairly mild campus here in Norman.

You obviously don't have college age kids because you would know that a lot of things go on at Universities across America -- isn't limited to frats or to state universities either. Happens to kids not in college as well.

You raise your kids right and you don't have to worry -- I hear all about what goes on with happenings on campus because I have the type of relationship with my kids that they can tell me without me going over the edge.

BTW my son who was President of his Fraternity and lived in the frat house since he was a Freshman is graduating with Honors from OU and has been awarded a full ride scholarship with a graduate assistant position and stipend along with medical insurance paid for his Master's Degree. He has had a 4.0 average for the last three semesters and will graduate with a 3.8. Really bad to have him a fraternity -- not! It has been great -- he has matured and become a leader not a follower. He is also a conservative who is going for his Masters and then a PhD in English to become a professor.

I know there are no moderate leftists. I don't know that the president considers anything he does to be accomodation of their desires.

I agree with you that the center has moved more to the left over the years, but I believe that will reverse itself if we don't foolishly cut off our noses to spite our own faces by splintering into useless little factions rather than remaining a larger united whole. I think that slow process has already begun, and we are almost to the point of making real headway if we stay the course. I believe the Left realizes that too, as evidenced by the desperation of their increasingly obvious tactics, and their desire to demoralize and divide us. Some of us are admittedly more to the right than the president, and disagree with some of his decisions, but the only electable alternative is unacceptable to all of us, or should be if we are truly on the right.

I think you are misjudging the president. I doubt the folks on the "deck of cards" would consider him particularly affable or sensitive. :)

you made an accusation against me in #18 that was obviously false because you have yet to produce the link to what you say I said to you.

A false accusation? LOL. You woman are somthing else. It was actually a mistake, as it was Mrs. Marple that posted to me in caps, saying on another thread "He didn't apologize". I always had trouble telling you two apart. LOL!

Here's what I posted. It was just a mistake between you two. There was no accusation of anything other than I thought is was you that posted something to me. Sheesh!

To: Howlin

Now what were you saying to me yesterday in capital letters?

And below your knee jerk, nasty, witch like, vile personal attack.

To: Joe Hadenuf

The only thing I said about you yesterday is that you don't like anybody except white people.

What are YOU talking about?

You didn't know what I was referring to because it was an honest mistake and had Mrs. Marple and you confused. It just a simple mistake. Instead of just saying, what are you talking about, you pulled out your vicious, nasty race baiting tools, and accuse me of hating everyone that isn't white. LOL! You are a pathetic individual.

"Anyone that has the will to fight and win without apologizing for it."

Well said. No need to apologize as we fight a war on terror. Seems some folks have forgotten 911. Seems some folks don't understand why these terrorists were prisoners. And for sure, some folks just don't have a sense of humor.

Oh sure, we had a little fun with a few terrorists we held captive. Excuse us. Guess we got a little carried away remembering all the people you guys slaughtered without reservation nor consideration on 911. It happens in war.

Thank you! So I am not the only one that recognized that first pic as all white guys in great shape? I thought maybe I was imagining things. That first photo was not Iraqi prisoners IMHO!

Excuse me ma'am, but what do you call this?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1130777/posts?page=116#116

By the way, I'm all for doing this to every Iraqi, man woman and child if they don't straighten up their act

The creatures that did this are vile animals. However, I believe that it is possible to completely defeat our enemy without descending down to the level of an animal.

If we really wanted to shake things up, we would begin prosecuting them as war criminals and executing by firing squad post haste.

I am not condoning what happened but if you think those people look Middle Eastern in that photo then I am shocked and why not go there?

I am not naive -- know it has been investigated but look what we are getting leaked photo's. I will reserve my judgement about that first photo until I see everything released because if they say those prisoners are Middle Eastern, I will be shocked. How do we know this was even one of the pictures -- heck some of the first reporting of a video was from a porn site?

What these people did was wrong but I still believe it is being blown out of proportion and our military and Administration tarred and feathered because of actions of a few. If they had hung the prisoners and drug them through the streets, then I would have total outrage!

As for frats, if you think everything is voluntary then think again!
