Herman Cain's Pledge to Protect the Unborn
Herman Cain For US Senate ^ | 4/29/04

Herman Cain's Pledge to Protect the Unborn

Our Nation's founders stated that we have an inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We can pursue happiness as long as we do not infringe on another's liberty. We can have liberty as long as we do not take another's life. And life begins at conception.

The Supreme Court's decision that the most innocent of human life - the life of an unborn child - can be ended for the sake of convenience, began the moral decline of our society. No great nation can prosper when life is not valued.

I do solemnly pledge and promise to the voters of Georgia, that as a United States Senator, I will:

-Introduce legislation that will restore legal, moral protection of unborn human life.
-Confirm conservative judges to the federal bench.
-Oppose the use of tax dollars to pay for abortions, abortion research, and activities which could encourage abortion as a ''solution'' to problem pregnancies.
-Oppose any fetal experimentation which requires or results in the death of an unborn child.
-Oppose abortion for pregnancy resulting from rape or incest.
-Support legislation requiring parental notification and consent before an abortion is performed on a minor child, until the goal of total protection of the unborn is reached.
-Oppose any attempts to legalize the RU 486 abortion technique.
-Oppose any attempts to make Partial Birth Abortion legal.

Our advantage in GA is that it is a 4 man race. Isakson and Collins will pick voters off from each other, Al Bartell, while he does have some conservative ideas, he is a socialist when it come to finances, and so Mr. Cain has quietly stepped ahead of Mac Collins and has Johnny Isakson looking over his shoulder, and seeing the whites of Cain's eyes.

Cain has campaigned tirelessly. The whole state knows who he is!

That being said, I hope Bush doesn't come here and support anyone (unless it is Cain, lol)

We've got a debate on Saturday, which should be good. It'll be the first major debate they've all showed up at.

Cain lists an endorsement from the Club for Growth on his web site, so he's the real deal, both fiscally and socially. I've donated.

As a male, Cain certainly won't be having an abortion. But, what about the women who will? It's not about male polticians, it's about women who decide to kill their children. IMHO, the focus of pro-lifers is misplaced.

in case you didn't know, the majority of the country is opposed to the liberal position of abortion on demand. particulary partial birth abortion...

I've heard some talk that Bush supports Isakson. I think it would be good for Bush to stay away from primary races--he doesn't need to alienate conservatives in GA the way he has in PA.

"Is the President getting involved in this race or not?"

His silence speaks loudly, thus far.

Personally, I believe he will stay out since there is no incumbent on the ballot...normally a POTUS will support incumbents and typically not campaign against one.

From Rove's-GWB's perspective, a Cain win insures an (R) stays in Congress (Isakson) and an (R) in the Senate (Cain), as opposed to potentially losing one or both.

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the info.

Cool...

But only women can stop abortion, majority or not. Only women have abortions, and only when women cease seeking abortion will the procedure end. All the politicians in the universe cannot stop abortion, only pregnant women can.

I don't think Johnny Isakson can go back to the House for the near future. He would have to wait until 2006.

I stand corrected...you are right. I also saw the candidates for his replacement at the breakfast yesterday.

After seeing how the racist Republicans in LA behaved in their senatorial election, I hope the people of GA will show more character.

What are you referring to? The Bobby Jindal race in 03? The David Duke races in 90 and 91? Please be specific.
