"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Al Qaida was said to be preparing for another major attack in Saudi Arabia.
Western diplomatic sources said embassies and foreign companies have been warned of the prospect of another major Al Qaida strike in the kingdom. The sources said the Al Qaida network in Saudi Arabia has been encouraged by the flight of Westerners from the kingdom in wake of previous insurgency strikes.
"The most likely prospect is an attack on a Western compound or office," a diplomatic source said. "It's a tried-and-true method and it causes the most panic among the expatriate community."
On Saturday, a gun battle took place outside a Western housing compound on the edge of Riyad. Reports of the shooting were sketchy with witnesses asserting that four gunmen were captured. Nobody from the compound was injured, and later the Interior Ministry denied that an attack had taken place.
I think this is a good idea, sick but people need to see this.
Surely this is a lie.
I just spent $45 to get barely 3/4 of a tank of regular gas two days ago. It makes me mad every time I go to the gas station. Not to mention the lady next to me was talking on her cell phone. Did you see what happened to that guy in NY whose cell phone rang and made a spark which caught the vapors as well as him on fire?
Peggy Noonan:
Here's the point: Bad things are coming, and we all know it. But most of us can't afford to buy a farm in the Hudson River Valley. Most of us can't afford to buy the safety of being far, far away on a lake in the mists. Many of us are stuck living near Port Newark.
What are we to do? This is the great domestic policy question of our time. Why doesn't our government provide us all with the means to survive an expected nuclear, biological or chemical attack? Why doesn't our government provide us with what I think of as a "get out of Dodge" kit--a protective suit, a regulation gas mask, information on which direction to walk in, or rather run in, and how soon, after Port Newark, or Times Square, or the Sears Tower, or the Shrine Auditorium, is hit? Why aren't they doing this?

If I hadn't clicked the links, I wouldn't believe it was a real article.
Sounds like she has been reading FR perhaps??
Disgusting and that's putting it mildly...
I wish it were. However..

same article. I keep hoping to awaken from this nightmare.
Simple answer. Money doesn't grow on trees. It is earned by productive people and confiscated from them by the government via taxation. The list of "do good" programs is already impossibly large and the burden is falling on fewer taxpayers as the baby boomers retire. The socialist programs are going to collapse. There is no pot of gold to pay for government silver bullets.
I agree, Myrddin. If the government told us exactly what they know about the terrorist threats, people would demand that 100% of the shipping containers be searched, that the borders be closed, that everyone be given protective gear, that everyone be provided with underground shelters, etc, etc, etc. There is not enough money in the world to protect us. That is the BOTTOM LINE. It can't be done. PERIOD. We have to face it. The survival of our nation, as we now know it, is at stake. We are going to be hurt BIG TIME, and many people will die, but I honestly think that we will come out stronger and better. I gotta believe that. I do... Keep the faith, my friend... TMGrasshoppers
Thanks Much! Books on the way. Looks like I will have to move these to the top of the stack.
It does sound like a great book! May be ordering myself..
Buy copies of Armageddon and "Deep Impact". You can be entertained and avoid wasting further time worrying about whether the movie fantasy could actually be implemented. The probability of a strike during out lifetime is small. The probability of mounting the movie fantasy approaches nil. We have more immediate concerns with Islamic terrorists sawing off the heads of U.S. citizens.
BAGHDAD (AFP) The top Iraqi security official said Governing Council members met foreign prisoners, including Turks, Syrians and Moroccans, who said they were paid to conduct attacks against coalition troops and Iraqis.
"They confessed in clear Arabic that they have come to Iraq to carry out attacks and terrorist operations," Muwaffaq al-Rubaie, newly appointed national security advisor, told reporters.
He said their targets included Iraqi police, the Iraqi Civil Defense Corps and government officials.
They also confessed "to being apprehended while carrying out attacks or planning to carry out attacks," according to Rubaie.
He called the foreign prisoners "terror mercenaries", saying they "numbered a few hundred" out of the 4,700 detainees at Abu Gharib prison, west of the capital.
The delegation confronted the foreigners about whether "their beliefs in jihad (holy war) and Islam justified killing children as happened in Basra recently," Rubaie said.
He said the foreigners were "shamed by this and their arguments were defeated."
The foreign prisoners also said they were being treated well by US troops and that "top-notch medical services were being provided to them."
Rubaie said the foreigners should be separated from other prisoners including Iraqi insurgents and loyalists of ousted president Saddam Hussein because "they might influence them with their jihadist thinking." He said that the delegation will hold a press conference Tuesday to give further details about its visit to Abu Gharib. The US-led coalition has long said that foreign terrorists, slipping mainly through the borders with Iran and Syria, were carrying out attacks in Iraq and fighting in the flashpoint Sunni town of Fallujah, west of the capital. A series of suicide car bomb attacks in Basra last week which killed 74 and wounded about 100, mostly policemen and children, have been blamed on the Al-Qaeda terror network.
The weapons came in on a ship from a European port, but the haul originated in the Middle East, sources say.
Weapons trawl

A MAJOR weapons shipment bound for the LVF was spirited away from Belfast harbour onboard a fishing boat.
The loyalist paramilitary gang kept its huge weapons haul out of the hands of police, by off-loading five crates of guns and explosives before the cargo ship docked at Belfast.
The arsenal was picked up by a fishing vessel, and taken up the Co Down coast.
It was eventually brought on shore at Groomsport, and moved to the LVF's leaders in Antrim, mid-Ulster and north Down, sources told Sunday Life.
Last month, police and Army spent four days examining a cargo at Gotto Wharf, in Belfast harbour, after receiving a tip-off about the shipment.

You guys have GOT to read "Memorial Day" by Vince Flynn!!
I've mentioned it before on this thread. Great TM material!
Every thing we have talked about and so much more. Even Rush Limbaugh is touting it.
I think we are entering some critical times, before the elections.
Terrorists hope to sway U.S. vote, Aznar (Spain ex-PM)warns
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1136805/posts
I think Aznar is correct, I just hope the American voters will be smarter than those in Spain, who allowed themselves to be intimidated by the terrorists and give in to them, which doesn't make them any safer, just the opposite.
