"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"

Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

It all began it's downfall with taking prayer out of school.

When I was in elementary school. First thing every morning we said the pledge and the Lord' Prayer. After lunch we took turns reading The Bible out loud at rest time.

Russia Resisting U.S. Pressure to Halt Nuclear Cooperation with Iran: MP

TEHRAN (MNA) -- Russian foreign policy toward Iran is different from the Iran policy of the U.S., said MP Hasan Qashqavi of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

Qashqavi told the Mehr News Agency that Iran-Russia cooperation in nuclear energy is based on technical and legal matters, thus Russia’s goals and policies toward Iran differ from those of the U.S. and are closer to the stance of the European Union.

Russia has resisted U.S. pressure to halt its cooperation with Iran in the field of nuclear energy, he said, adding that Russia will determine its own national interests and will not be influenced by the United States.

The MP explained that Russia and Europe have asked the Islamic Republic to clear up all misunderstandings about the Iranian nuclear program and Russia and Europe will cooperate with Iran within the framework of its relations with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and Russia has maintained its firm position of support for Iran and its civilian nuclear program.

Commenting on Russian foreign policy, Qashqavi noted that many analysts believe that the recent measures taken by Russian President Vladimir Putin seem to indicate that Russia will adopt an independent stance and this will positively influence the whole region.

Los Alamos to conduct ‘subcritical’ nuclear experiment in Nevada

Last Update: 05/15/2004 9:52:53 AM
By: Associated Press

(Los Alamos-AP) -- Los Alamos National Laboratory plans its eighth subcritical nuclear experiment at the Nevada Test Site this spring.

Los Alamos researchers say it will use bomb-grade plutonium.

But they say the configuration of the explosives will prevent a full-fledged nuclear explosion.

The detonation will take place inside a high-strength steel, underground vessel to contain the explosion.

The United States banned nuclear testing in 1993.

Los Alamos’ director of operations at the Nevada Test Site, Raffi Papazian, says subcritical tests help maintain expertise and equipment in case the United States decides to restart nuclear tests.

Exploded?

Amazon plane crash kills 33

15.05.2004 - 20:30
By Andrew Hay

BRASILIA, Brazil (Reuters) - All 33 people aboard a Brazilian passenger plane were killed when it crashed in the Amazon jungle
just minutes from landing at the industrial city of Manaus, aviation authorities have said.

The propeller aircraft operated by Rico Linhas Aereas fell into dense jungle about nine miles (15 km) from Manaus airport at 6:37
p.m. Friday in northwest Amazonas state, 1,200 miles (2,000 km) northwest of the capital, Brasilia.

The turbo-prop, carrying 30 passengers and three crew, was on a normal approach in clear skies when it disappeared off the radar
screen, Brazil's regional civil aviation service said.

"There wasn't even time to for him (the pilot) to speak, it was so fast," Geraldo Gomes Alves, head of the agency in Manaus, told
Reuters. "He was maybe two minutes from landing."

The airline said the passengers were all Brazilians over the age of 12.

Rescue crews abandoned the search for survivors and wreckage along the banks of the Rio Negro River on Saturday after only
finding scattered human remains and unidentifiable fragments of the aircraft.

"They only found small wreckage. No survivors," a spokesman for Rico Linhas Aereas told national radio.

The lack of any large pieces of wreckage indicated the plane exploded, the company spokesman said.

Same kind of place that has a bad accident record here in the US. Same kind John Tower died on.

What do you make of it?

In South America? Could be anything...planes do not usually explode in mid-air for no reason or nobody would fly them. Might be good to get the passenger list out.

But, yeah, he does seem to say some similar things.

Thanks.
